I'm thinking whether it's possible to have 2 Astro decoders but only pay for 1 Astro subscription so that when I go to my condo during weekend, I can watch tv over there by bringing my card over there? Possible? How?

You still need satellite disk to receive the signal. Nowaday, you can't bring the card only but whole recorder as well.

Possible. As long as you have 2 decoders (with the disk/ central connection for condo) of similar type eg both normal decoders or both byond decoders

But I heard for the new decoders, the card cannot be used on another decoder. Only certain deCoder can.
But mine is the new decoder. So cannot izzit? I got to bring the whole decoder instead?

Where can I get old decoder and I assume I must also get the old card in order to work?

What I heard, the new sim card need the newer decoder. With New sim card, you can use any of the new decoder. The Decoder is not lock into specific card.

Which is the new card you referring to? Is it the one for the silver decoder?

Sorry no reference, really don't know. You have to check with them. This is all I heard from my wireman when he did my house.

You won't get two astro for price of 1. If you need to pay only one, you only have one Sim card, and at any one time you can only watch one channel be it 2 TV or 10 TV. You need two decoder to watch two difference channel, and two sim card. Which you need to top up some money for 2nd sim card and decoder.

Also you need to check how is your house wiring now. If you have one Cable to the satellite, your 2nd decoder coax cable need to come from the first decoder. Because the first decoder act as a repeater / booster for your second decoder. If you don't want to do this, get a new satellite, that mean you need 2 satellite.

My brother's kids used to bring their Astro card and used them on my mum's Astro decoder when they visits her. No problem. Both are using the normal decoder. Not beyond. Just that both have different Astro subscription packages.

I won't be using 2 Astro at the same time coz I'll be using it at either house. However I heard the old decoder, you can use the card and plug in any old decoder.
But mine is new decoder for 1 house and old decoder for the other. Sianz... I'm not in favor to pay double every mth loh coz I move btw both hse.

In that case, you just move the decoder with you. Just plug in the sat dish wire. Easy

If I move the new decoder can? Coz the old one cut-off. I'm just afraid new decoder not compatible with the old satellite dish.
