Don't know this work or not but every time I receive free this or free that SMS, I ALWAYS DELETE THEM OFF IMMEDIATELY AND NEVER REPLY to them. I presume if you did reply to them, it's may be a confirmation you wanted their service. And since you asked for it, legally you have to pay.
Furthermore, I always ask my telco to stop sending my any free MMS because receiving MMS in Malaysia is free from them but when overseas, receiving MMS is chargeable because they are considered data usage.
