hell or heaven?

wow..very good job this one..u have a really good skill now since u are only 16..
but then still there're a few parts can be improved for my opinion..a lot ppl tend to only manipulate this n that but forget about shadow and light. esp ur human, traffic light and angels..they need a drop shadow on the ground..as for lighting, traffic light will be fine if ur heaven is in evening sunset mood..but now it looks very bright, a lil bit greenish but traffic light is in yellowish and dark mood.

but for me traffic light might be uncessary in this piece..it might look better when the person is walking towards heaven and hell without the traffic light which makes it look a bit weird..doesnt match the whole idea..

but still very very thumbup.gif

cool idea! but the burning fishes seems too distracting..perhaps u can "burn" only the books with the people at the center..then fishes at the background..

also if it is burning, u need to change the skintone of the human as well =)

Thanks!! I will work more on lighting! Oh damm... I just couldn't figure out why I always include something extra lu;l! Maybe that's one of my weakness.. Gotta find a solution to it..  unsure.gif

And yep, I used the dodge and burn tool! Sometimes I would just add another layer, clip mask it and start to repaint the lighting of the whole object.. it depends for me.. haha, as I'm still "experimenting" and playing with the tools in PS!  brows.gif

haha..yeah..adding unnecessary things into ur works doesnt make it looks even better..but instead if u cant control well, the result is even worse. =)

i see..somehow u can use the dodge and burn to slightly refine ur lighting problem too..haha

Added on June 8, 2012, 8:26 amThere are dolphins in the water, used burn and dodge tool to ''create'' them.. doesn't look obvious but if you are good in observing, you can notice their presence..

guess u hvae slowly formed your own color mood already..=) good..

but i think u can try to enhance your lighting to make everything more dramatic..also maybe try to add some depth to define the fore, back and mid ground

btw just did a few mins tweak of your work..hehe thats what i more prefer hehe =))

thanks heinhein  notworthy.gif

woo? nod.gif

Thanks. If you're really into these I suggest you to join DeviantART!

Ya bt not all by myself, I learn from the others too, like from DeviantART, there are tons of good tutorials and artists there. They inspire me to start all of these haha.

Hi Ed, nice tweak but I think there are still room for more improvements I think!!

I've actually tried to increase the depth of field by brushing up some blurred tree branches (with green leaves) on the top right side and some dead tree branches on the top left but it won't really work, it just makes the whole artwork looks weird in a way! Haha! Guess I'm not that good yet, but yours branches look quite natural, and you keep mentioning abt depth of field like since last year, I always kept that in mind until now and try to improvise whenever I have the chance lol! And ya lighting is another challenging task, it will be awesome if I can integrate my works with 3D software for lighting & shadow projection.  blink.gif

btw, I just finished building a website for myselff., now only lacking one page haven't finish , I'll use it as my backup site to store all my works.

hehe check it out!  laugh.gif Need some feedback on the user experience & navigating part..

hehe yeah..when u really get into design world, u will realise how imp is DEPTH..in order to create a focus and everything will not look flat..

oh wow..nice one. rclxms.gif seriously i cant imagine what if u really step into design school..u learn and do things TOO fast..when i was ur age, i was like rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

ya you're right.

When i step into design school I guess I'll be going back to the basic  since most of the schools here focus on traditional skills on the first year.. maybe some digital??  blink.gif  unsure.gif  I dunno lol, but I'll just go with the flow...

*
hehe yeah but u know most of the people step into the design school with minimal art sense..but now u already having much knowledges in art and design..all the softwares skills u are so good in it..include some 3d softwares..most imp u already know to be creative and develop ur own style rclxms.gif
