Pink Floyd The Making Of Wish You Were Here ! Awesome news !

This summer, Eagle Rock Home Entertainment will bring Pink Floyd: The Making of Wish You Were Here to Blu-ray. Through a mix of new and vintage interviews with band members Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and Nick Mason - among others - the documentary, which originally premiered on U.K. television stations last year, details the creation of Pink Floyd's classic Wish You Were Here album.

From Eagle Rock's official synopsis:

"The band members discuss the album's themes of absence, the greed of the music business, and former band member Syd Barrett, who is famously celebrated in 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond,' which both opens and closes the album. The program also covers the unexpected visit Barrett paid to Abbey Road during the recording, the difficulties of the early recording sessions, and how the decision to split 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' into two sections was the catalyst for the album's successful completion."

While many of the Blu-ray's technical and supplementary specifications are still unknown, Eagle Rock promises that the "Blu-ray releas[e] contain[s] additional bonus material not featured in the TV broadcast version, including further interviews with Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and Nick Mason plus Roger Waters and David Gilmour performing excerpts from the Wish You Were Here album."

Pink Floyd: The Making of Wish You Were Here streets on June 26th.

"Sony's new Spider-Man Blu-ray combo packs present each film in their original aspect ratios (1.85:1 for Spider-Man and 2.39:1 for Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3) with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks (a change from the original discs' 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio)"

thru the ajar board room door at sony where i overheard one studio executive uttered "it's the right time to re-release the bluray trilogy, now that the reboot is hitting theatres soon... i am sure fans dont mind double-dipping since this one comes with packed features & a superior audio option!"

i would prolly fall under this 'dd group' category but being a price-aware consumer (aka - a cheapskate); i need to get rid of my original trilogy first then will buy the new trilogy if only the price drop massively hopefully by black friday later this year... tongue.gif

Count me in too..im going for as well..as a Spidey fan, this is a must for me self..

For iPhone Users

Our iPhone app is now available in the Apple App Store. It's a collection app so you can keep your movie collection in the phone/always with you and update it wherever you are. You can search for titles in the Blu-ray.com database and it also has a bar code scanner that you can use in stores, on your movies etc to quickly get the exact title you are looking for. The bar code scanner should work for both US titles and international titles, as long as the titles are in the database.

The app is 100% free, but you must be a registered member at Blu-ray.com to manage your collection (membership is also 100% free). Search for "blu-ray.com" in the Apple App Store to find it (the app requires iOS 5).

A more or less identical Android version is being worked on and should be finished Q2.

3D Blu-ray just like 2D Blu-ray, either locked by region or region free.  Their never locked by brand.  Previously, is due to exclusive right for some 3D titles brought by those brands.  So, during that exclusive period, to get those 3D titles, you have to buy those BDP and get that 3D titles for free.  tongue.gif  Avatar 3D is one of the example.  But now Avatar 3D can be per-order in many Amazon site already like Amazon.de.

Yo! The best news today, LOVE LOVE the cover! I like it!

---------------------------------
By the way, I just back from cinema after watching:

  • The Avengers - 4.5 Star! Love it, the best marvel movie. (I will buy the BD when out!) biggrin.gif
  • Battleship - 3.5 Star! I give this rating because giving face for the action, special effects only. The story is nah....... nothing... predictable, old fashion. (Definitely won't in my BD list)

*
I loved Battleship, the special effects were impressive. Bro, it was a science "fiction", what can you expect than usual predictable storyline?

Watched The Avengers on Tuesday night. I'm impressed although i was expecting more from the comic hero's but it was exciting. Iron Man & Hulk stole the show. It's must to have it in Blu-ray
