QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Dec 27 2011, 11:08 PM) my dad just bought a new car and he gave me his MyVi, since that it's already 5 years old, problems are existing and some of them are really irritating. @@ Bro, problem num 4 cannot be solved b foaming ur car... Foaming is actually to increase ur car's rigidity... Sound of compressor cutting in u cant do much, because myvi's fan quite loud.. Better noise insulation can help u i think...Problems : 1. dashboard is having 'kok-kok-kok' sound when i drive through an uneven road. 2. fog lamps' clip are broken 3. handling is really not my cup of tea, body roll (is it the correct term? @@) is kinda obvious even when i'm on low speed. 4. sound of compressor kicking in is making me uncomfortable. Solutions : 1. still finding it, couldnt find the source though. 2. change a new pair of fog lamp 3. heard that changing to 15' Rims, new set of suspension, anti roll bar will help? is it? @@ 4. kl autofoam can solve it? how's the price and workmanship? good and reasonable? really hope that all daigors here can help me out. thanks first!! |

QUOTE(chs880221 @ Dec 27 2011, 11:18 PM) Hello, I am new here and driven my one month old myvi 1.5 se manual so far. I am encountering some problem and would like to know if anyone could help me out. The fuel consumption for the past 1 month was around averagely 16.8 km / l or rm 40 I could go around 310km - 340km depending on my foot. One of the problem is during gear shift from 2nd to 3th gear, there is a "click" sound after 10 minutes of driving and thereafter and no such sound for other gear shift. The other problem that worries me is the EPS system. I dun know how it actually function. During high speed, yes it should be tighter, but when I slow down, the steering is still tight. Sometimes upon driving around 20km per hour the steering will be lose but sometimes not, how does the eps actually function towards different speed? Solution from dear sifu here is very much appreciated T_T Bro, i think ur gearbox is not properly sync or mesh between gear to another gear.. Get it fixed quickly by complaining it to ur service advisor next time for ur schedule servicing... Last time on my father's myvi, also got this problem, n the service centre replace some gears within the gearbox n mesh it back.. Total cost was around 1++k almost reaching 2k labour+parts, so better get it fixxed before warranty void...For fuel consumption, 1st n foremost, ur quoted 16kml is from the trip computer or ur actual FC calculation...?? Im assuming its from the trip computer reading, because that is damn good FC actually Bro... I think ur car is still quite new, that y the heavier FC... Mine averages 15km/l(actual calculation, trip shows around 16km/l++), with mixed driving styles.. But before 1st servicing, was averaging only 12.5-13kml... Now my car's odo is 8++k km... Regarding the ESP, actually the ESP will varries ur car's steering weight with speed.. For example, when maneuvering at parking speed, the steering will be much more lighter hence easier to tumble the steering left n right, n at high speed, the steering becomes heavier to help to reduce steering wandering left n right at high speed... Hope this helps... This post has been edited by ikiey: Dec 27 2011, 11:48 PM |

QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Dec 27 2011, 11:38 PM) btw, changing to 15' rims, adding front struct bar + anti roll bar, large pot brake kit and changing suspensions, will it be increasing the handling a lot? i dont really like the handling now. for instance, body roll is kinda obvious even in low speed. Bro, u can ask Rahas.. He did all that bar the large pot brake kit.. GAB SS sumore |

QUOTE(canho @ Dec 27 2011, 11:54 PM) Haha... for me, handling is important that others... but sure i will remain the power as good as i can without power mods. After i change to wider tires, my top speed drop 190kmh to around 180kmh(same distance accelerate, but think it have a bit more go, but dare not try cuz acceleration was getting really slow n need longer straight)... Not only the width is important, whats important is also the tire's rolling resistant... Higher rolling resistant tires surely will sap more power from our tiny engine...Please go a head for rear anti roll bar, is a faster solution to solve Myvi body roll issue!!! |

Bro, its actually lighter.. Myvi OEM's is around 7kg per piece.. This one only 4.9kg per piece.. Even the 17" is only 6.9kg... But, yes, it also depends on the tyre that u pair it with, because the tyre also add in a huge chunck of weight on ur wheel combo...
How to know if its lightweight or not..?? By comparing the weight lar Bro... If regamaster rims, only aroun 3+kg per piece for 15"... Hehehe |

QUOTE(yhlim93 @ Dec 28 2011, 08:07 AM) wah idk OEM is soo heavy == so if i wan around 800 or 900 bucks rims and durable, which brand shld i go to? @@ K2? Kspeed? Advanti? SSR? Lenso? OZ? Enkei? sparco? or? for 900 range rims, i dont think u can get enkei or OZ or sparco.. Those rims if original is very expensive.. OZ is from italy..Added on December 28, 2011, 8:11 am yeah, i saw reviews saying dat K2 is light bt might easily cracked, while advanti hving lightweight rims bt d quality is better, bt advanti exp leh >< My recommendation is to get rim that have brand.. N never use replica's rim... Even if the replica have 'made in japan' engraved on it etc, its just imitation n not the real thing.. My friend's replica mostly are already bent n crack... But yes, it looks good those AA-grade replica.. But looks only lar |

QUOTE(hazremi @ Dec 28 2011, 10:25 AM) My 1.5 SE... Yesterday shah alam-seremban-shah alam, n today just now shah alam-melacca-shah alam, n now just arrived back home... FC....Started from Elite highway i snap this trip B from my last refuel full tank of petrol (mileage inclusive of yesterdays trip to seremban n then some)... 457.1km on odometer with range showing 230km left N then go to melacca n just now almost arived home... Nice rite...?? Total trip 666.6 (nice number also), n only then starts to blink2... But this is really hard to get, 85% highway, 15% B-road(simpang ampat toll to tampin n then into genting plantation's area) with twisties, so that one i cannot tahan, i also becomes hooligan abit play2 with this one Saga FL... Hehehe3, it was fun though n the Saga driver was a very sporting guy, he didnt block when i about to passed him, n hes also very skillful, cuz he manage to go in n out of this 1 tight bend while skidding all the way... Damn good car control on the limit... But, back to the question on how i can manage this FC... never did i once go past 100kmh(during highway that is, but during the B-road with Saga, cannot tahan but still never pass 120kmh cuz there jalan so narrow n no long straight) n very gentle to the throtle pedal... I on purpose drive slowly at highway because wan to make 1 whole day trip, otherwise need to go back office This post has been edited by ikiey: Dec 28 2011, 05:43 PM |
