got my car today and the mechanics left a masking tape on the steering wheel for alignment settings. When I took it off, the 'sticker' is stuck to the plastic already =.=

anyone got any ideas how to remove this? I've tried the cellophane tape technique but its not working...

Congrats! rclxms.gif

The masking tape that strong meh? Mine same condition as yours previously. I used a stronger tape and tap the area repeatedly.

Got pic? I wonder how it looks.. You might want to try rubbing it with Dettol wet tissue first..

Man.. That's quite a glue.. Have you try to soften up the glue? Using wet tissue?

You can get Goo Gone from ACE Hardware. Apply to a cloth, rub it against the residue and it should come off soon enough. Safe for most surfaces, including for those with hardened road tax stickers wink.gif
*
Is it safe for body color? I have some QC sticker residue at side front bumper. Small one.

Takde hal la, I've waited for so long till excitement has already died off tongue.gif

Same with me last time. Promised the car to be delivered before CNY, but branch manager gone for training in Penang for a week. So no signature to authorize the car release. sweat.gif

But nevermind. The wait is truly worth it. thumbup.gif

The one problem I have with manual in MyVi is that the height of the seat does not feel 'right' with the short gearstick.
*
I didn't find any issue here. The feeling is just nice.. thumbup.gif

kinda interested to come and see other cars and that vibrating door problem, but not sure if can make it...

anyway, my headlights appear to be very high...not sure if its normal for you guys. How do we measure this?
*
I went to SC and they say it's normal. How they do it?

They stand in front of the light beam and measure it with their body. I guess there's a specific height for it, and every mechanics needs to know which their body part the "limit" falls on. Kinda weird and funny lol.

you mean vibrating door problem? actually I haven't heard of this problem before but would like to hear out the solution from one of the member during the TT.
*
No no.. My answer previously is for your high headlamp level. Not the vibrating door problem. smile.gif

But later I'll go to Glenmarie branch to double confirm.

Disappointed with Glenmarie SC. Came for a simple headlight beam adjustment but have to do formal booking first. Plus, during lunch hour, the mechanics are offline. And heck, their number, 03-55691913 is not reachable.

why am I not surprised? Possibly all SC are like this. As a more professional service rather than the common mechanic's flexibility?
*
I am more familiar with Subang Airport SC. Their phone number is easily reachable, service can be done during lunch hour, and for a small problem, they're willing to take care of it without having to book 1 day in advance or register at counter. Plus, Subang Airport's staff are way friendlier.

I don't know if it's just me.

Is it advisable to change the spark plugs during my next 5,000 km. Itchy to change to Iridium dy. tongue.gif

Coz I am a bit skeptical that the OEM plugs can last up to 10,000 km..

So I just got my car today - so far only had less than an hour to drive it around before sending for Sierra Glow tomorrow. It's now my turn to ask a few questions tongue.gif

1. I'm on a manual, and the gear stick vibrates a lot, even more than my old Kancil. If I was able to pull it out of the car it would serve really well as a ladies companion on a lonely night. Is there something wrong?

2. For the driver's window, since when it was normal for all cars to have automatic descend but not ascend?

3. The gear shifts feel like I'm letting loose many small tight springs from its locks. Sometimes I can't tell whether I'm engaged in gear or not. Will this improve after running in?

4. The clutch is too high - I killed the engine five times on the way home. Can the SC reduce its height?

That's all for now, but I'll definitely have more questions from the sifus soon smile.gif
*
1. Typically, as ikiey said, during break in period, it should be tighter (still virgin) and less vibrate. After the break in also it shouldn't be vibrating, but the level of vibration is tolerable for a mechanical things.

2. Yes, it's normal. But I don't know since when. Even 2002 Kancil got auto up and auto down. Maybe it's a safety standard lol.

3. I think you have to get rectified at SC. Normally during break in the gear will be very stiff and rubbery. But after break in, the rubbery is still there, but I'm used to it since the dawn of Perodua already. laugh.gif

4. Get it done at SC.
