my wife had given birth at hospital selayang. we took the FPP scheme (full payment patient). total cost $3506 for normal delivery (3d2n). the price was slightly higher if to compare to the estimated price given for normal delivery which around 2k++. since all covered by the company i didn't bother to look at the itemised bill smile.gif
the O&G specialist and the nurses who attended my wife in the ward and labor room was being very friendly and helpful. BUT not those nurses which stationed at the labor room registration counter. they s**ks.
other than that it was OK for a government hospital.

Hi, can i know which doctor did you choose in the FPP scheme?
I plan to register FPP scheme in selayang hospital, there are only 3 doctors available currently - Dr Yu, Dr Philip & Dr Roslan.
I've no idea which doctor should i choose.. Any recommendation?

Btw, why your wife stayed for 3d2n in hospital? I heard normally can go back after 1 night stay.. Thanksss.

Whats the best place for giving birth? Any doctors to recommend?

Most of my friends recommend SJMC, Sunway or Gleneagles. Very expensive all these places.

Hi all,

My wife entering 4th month pregnancy.

How do we register for FPP? As i went to Putrajaya hospital couple of weeks ago, we was being told that just to walk when the time comes and it will depend if bed are available at that time or delivery or else they will divert to other hospital that able to accomodate.

This will be our first experience so need some advise here. Thanks in advance smile.gif

i think they misunderstood your question maybe. for fpp u need to book in advance. last time i booked with them when am in second trimester, around 5-6 months pregnant. but you can try call them again.
for fpp they wont transfer u since u will tagged under 1 gynea then she or he will be in charge with the checkup n delivery etc
walk in if u are from around putrajaya and yes if its full they will transfer to other hospital but for fpp nope. bcos we booked it earlier plus we pay more icon_rolleyes.gif

Go to government hospitals as they are best equipped. The labor room staff, well, what can I say, some attitude are good, some are less so. Not that they don't care, they just become desensitized. Believe if you have delivered tens of babies per day, niceties might be the last thing or their minds (safety of mother and baby first).

Agree to the statement above.

My daughter was born prematured at 24 weeks in PPUM 15 years ago and I visited her daily when she was warded for 4 months. During which I saw many other cases from other private hospitals that was not equipped to handle complicated cases. If they could handle the case, the cost was too much that the parents finally opted for PPUM. Worst still some private hospitals caused permanent disability to the newborn, according to the parents.

Now my wife is pregnant with our second child and we would be going back there for delivery, it simply doesn't make sense to go anywhere else.
