The Setup for my STS -

1. Screen Protector from Sony (Need to have this for peace of mind)
2. Black Leather Carrying Cover from Sony (Also need to have this for peace of mind)
3. Cradle (To reduced wear and tear of plugging and unplugging of charging cable form the charging port)
4. Extra charging cable from Sony (To be paired with the cradle, the other I use to carry it around with me)
5. 16Gb SDHC by Kingston and later upgraded to 32Gb.
6. OTG Cable
7. Wireless keyboard with touchpad by Rapoo (Non Bluetooth, saves device battery juice)
8. Wireless stereo headset by Rapoo (Non Bluetooth, good sound quality paired with STS players EQ)
9. For data on the go, I have my SE Xperia Ray with DiGi Unlimited data plan switched on to Wireless Hotspot.

*In the pipeline, thinking of getting a Rapoo wireless controller (Non Bluetooth) or a Logitech controller depending on the game that I have. I have GTA 3 (Free), read somewhere that it's compatible with external controller but have yet to try.

Cool but like I mentioned on my previous post, would probably get either the Rapoo Wireless or the Wired Logitech(If I'm not mistaken). The PS3 is a tad bit too pricey for me plus I would need to have it connected through bluetooth. Would want to save as much juice as possible with the external peripherals.. Spent so much already on the other add-ons ie; Screen protector, carrying cover, cradle... (",)

Added on February 29, 2012, 3:29 pmGuys, there is another option you can try to have Data/Wireless on the go. If you don't own an android smartphone with unlimited data plan BUT owns a Prepaid or Postpaid Broadband Plan with USB dongle, you can try getting an ASUS Wireless N 6in1 Mobile Router. It has an option to hook up your 3G USB dongle to it and gain wireless connectivity to your mobile devices through it. I have one but have not tested on the 3G USB dongle capability because I don't have mobile broadband plan other than my DiGi unlimited on my Xperia Ray. I used the rest of the other functions on it such as the Universal Repeater (Extend my UniFi wireless coverage at home) and Wireless Access Point for old routers without N format. Worth a try...

Well, I don't think you're going to get a 3rd party SP anytime soon. It'll be months and by the the time it gets here, your STS screen would probably have a few hairline scratches from daily use already... When I bought my STS, I went high and low looking for SPs. None were available. Told myself that no matter how expensive it's going to be I'm going to buy it because I hate seeing my beloved gadget get even the tiniest scratches on it. I was lucky enough, 2 days after I bought my STS, Sony Centre started selling SP and Carrying Cover. Bought both straight away. It was bloody expensive but at the end of the day I know that my STS is protected... Atleast from normal wear and tear...

Hi,

It seems that most of your complaints are software related (Honeycomb) but do correct me if I'm wrong about this guys . For your 2nd problem, I think we all have that. You can actually set it to 3 different settings based on your requirements. You can do that by going to WiFi settings -> WiFi disconnect policy. It seems though that even after the you set your settings, it might still disconnect once the the screen switches off. I had the same problem but someone in this forum pointed out to an app in Market called 'Advance WiFi Lock Free' and after installing it the problem goes away but the app has some limitations because its free. To be able to use its full potential, you have to buy it.. As for the browser, I don't have any problem with it. I actually liked it. It's quite fast!

Im currently using Kensington Voirtuoso stylus with sony screen protector on. Tried a few before i bought it. Its the only one that registered some responds unlike the rest but still not the best though..

Just updated my STS to ICS... Damn, need to re-tweaked alot of my settings and applications. *Sigh.

Those who were able to update probably has a US or other non malaysia unit. Mine is US. The ICS update is somewhat a mixed bag for me... someone mentioned about screen flickering. Had that, now not so often. Maybe once in a while when in PlayStore. Love the screenshot ability. Sad because can't use WizzBar.... Need some getting use. As for typing seems ok. M replying from my tablet.. Doesn't seem to be lagging or anything. M not using stock keyboard tbough. Using Multiling Keyboard...

..Yet. Everyone will eventually get their ICS 'treatment'. Its just a matter of time... Patience. Its being rolled kut in stages. I was lucky I got mine becoz mine is a US unit. To tell you the truth, apart from the Screenshot ability and another few add ons its just like Honeycomb. Not to mentioned the ocasional screen flickering, can be quite annoying. Just enjoy Honeycomb for now. ICS will come to you....

When I updated mine to ICS, I didn't backup anything. Luckly all my settings and data were intact. But yes just to be on the safe side one can do a backup of their data... Should you guys get your ICS updates later, I would like to take this opportunity to say 'Welcome to ICS!'

Those who didn't experience any screen flicker, any of you guys using live wallpaper? That might be the cause. Mine is a US set. Haven't tried my ICS with non live wallpaper yet. Wont look as cool anyway. Can still live with the flicker, hehe... Hopefully next update can solve it...

Am having the same problem here, it started yesterday afternoon. It started when I wanted to use my STS yesterday. I tried to switched it on from standby mode but the screen was black as if it was switched off. After pressing the ON switch for a few seconds an releasing it, nothing happened so i soft reset it by pressing the pin reset button and it switched off (I assumed..) Then right after I tried switching it on again thinking its going to be ok but after a few min my STS was still stuck in the boot mode (SONY logo). Did the reset thing a few times but still no changes. I went on to do the hard reset (Combination of +Vol and Power button while connected to power supply) and tried to reset it to Factory Setting but again it didnt work. Felt like throwing it to the wall but it was a birthday gift from my wife. Mine is unrooted US model, updated to ICS.
