it's better to change IF you're very sure, you'll get extra marks if I'm not wrong. The same goes to summary. But when you answer the questions on the petikan then you don't have to  smile.gif

The Pemahaman for the Ringkasan no. 1 Question always the most headache... sleep.gif Can someone make a definition list about it?

Like what's the meaning of 'Kerja Sambilan'

Btw, I need help with Chinese Passage Summary...

Should anyone make a Facebook page or MSN Group for studying O-o?

Also who can teach me Tatabahasa, Grammar and Chinese Grammar doh.gif I hate to study when I was little :/ Now regreting.
*
Regarding your last paragraph, u can either ask here or PM our seniors biggrin.gif

The kerja sambilan 1....wow this is tricky...I would write..."Maksud kerja sambilan ialah kerja yang dilakukan pada sebahagian masa yang ada." Im not sure ok or not, lol

Actually, whenever they ask for maksud, your answer must be the same amount of words as the question. Like kerja sambilan, your answer must also be in 2 words. (I don't know the answer haha. Try to find it in Kamus Dewan?)
I think I get what you mean..

if a - a
o - b
n - c

a, b and c must forever stick to a, o and n respectively.

n - c
o - b
a - a

example :

Terang bulan terang di paya, --- (a)
Anak kambing memakan rumput,  ---- (b)
Jika tak kenang kepada saya, --- (a)
Nama yang baik tidak tersebut --- (b)

Anak itik terenang-renang, --- ©
Air pasang tenang-tenangan, --- (d)
Budi sedikit bila kan hilang, --- ©
Itu menjadi kenang-kenangan.  --- (d)

Anak ikan berlima-lima, --- (a)
Mati ditimpa punggur berdaun,  --- (d)
Kasih tuan saya terima, --- (a)
Sebagai hutang seribu tahun. --- (d)

I hope you can understand lol.  blush.gif
*
The ans must only be 2 words? So "kerja sampingan" is enough for an answer?

scribblez16 and maximR, so if I put just that 2 words means can get full marks? Is it a must to put "maksud kerja sambilan ialah tugas sampingan."?

if you guys really don't understand, just post the questions here and ask. Most of us here have already gone through Form 3, so just ask. Asking won't hurt your self-esteem right? Look at our Form 4 thread, when if we can't get the answer, we'll try and then ask everyone how to do this, how to do that, and some of our seniors will help us with it, especially Add Maths.  smile.gif

I'm sure some of the seniors here are willing to help, including me. Sorry if you think I'm nagging you guys, lol.  whistling.gif

The diagram shows a discus circle APB in which an athlete must stand when he throws a discus. The centre of the circle is O. CD is an arc with centre O and of radius 4m. If chord PA and chord PB have the same length, calculate the length of arc DC. (Take pie=3.142)

I ask 1 1st cuz maybe once I understand 1, I will understand the rest.

Is the answer 8.379m?

Added on February 12, 2012, 10:38 pmIn order to find DC, you need to find angle COD.

Since PA=PB, angle PAO=angle PBO.
And if you look carefully, PAOB is a quadrilateral so it is is 360°
I shall name angle APB x. Hence, angle AOB is 2x.

30+30+x+(360-2x)=360
You will get the answer x=60°

angle COD = angle AOB = 2x = 120°

Then you just substitute the angle 120° and r = 4m into the LOA formula you learnt in Form 2.

*Crosses fingers and hope that I'm not wrong.  wink.gif
*
Yeap, the ans is correct rclxms.gif ! But I have a trouble on the last step. Isn't it supposed to be 120/360 x 3.142 x 4? That way Im not getting the answer...

Oh, forgot the '2'. Thx a lot.

Another 1, chap 3.3...

The diagram below shows a cyclic quadrilateral PQRS. POS is the diameter of the circle and PQ=QR. Calculate angle QPS.

For this subtopic, all you need to know is

1. The angle subtended anywhere at the circumference by the same arc is equal.
2. The angle subtended at the center is twice the angle subtended at the circumference provided it is by the same arc.
3. The angle subtended at the circumference by the diameter is always 90°

That's it. It's just that the questions can change here and there. I have to admit that it can be tricky. But if you do lots of exercises, you can get the hang of it.

And as for the circle terminologies, sorry, I can't explain it online. Try googling it.

Added on February 12, 2012, 11:32 pm
Angle PQR = 180-56 = 124
Angle QRP = (180-124)/2 = 28
Angle PRS = 90
Angle QRS = 90+28 = 118
Angle QPS = 180-118 = 62
*
Thx again.

Man, still got some I dunno rclxub.gif

1) A competitor in a kite-making competition has designed a kite that represents a cyclic quadrilateral with centre O as shown in the diagram. From the diagram, calculate the value of x .

2) The diagram on the right shows the cross section of a supermarket building. It resembles a cyclic quadrilateral in a semicircle with centre O. The length of the back wall is equal to the length of the roof. Calculate the value of x.

They have 2 things in common. See, the straight line that passes through the center, or you can say, the line that passes through the point O, you can see the triangles right?
If there's a triangle in the circle, and the hypotenuse is the diameter of the circle, it automatically means that the triangle is a right-angled triangle.

Right-angled triangle = 90° at one angle. So you can identify where is the 90° at right? Now try to do it on your own?

Eh, why last night I so blur doh.gif . Hehe it's just 1 triangle sweat.gif ...got it, thx.

possible x = 180-50 = 130'
means I might just wasted my time on some silly math trap?

The ans is 100' and I got it rclxm9.gif . Thx to your pic that explained it, but how u got 130'?? The 100' on top of the left triangle already means that x is 100', the interior angle of the cyclic quadrilateral equals to the what opposite extended exterior angle or something. U can check the full explaination on your book, thx for your help bro =)

Yes it's 100'

So the outside is 100'
As this diagram below.

Lol I also need to do that question.

U need to draw imaginary lines for this. 1st, extend the line B-O until it touches line AC. Now u have a straight line(180'). So in order to find the other angle of that line, take 180-26(the given degree)=154. To find the other angle of line DOC, take 180-154. Straight line=180, minus the angle that u got earlier. So in order to complete the 360' circle, 360-154-26-26=154(remaining angle of the 360'). So since angle BOC=2x angle BAC....take 154(BOC) and divide by 2.

Sorry if I confused u, 1st time explaining hehe..
