universal block will take more than 1 slot once u add the fitting. The fitting is not horizontally mount, so u cant mount 2 vga in slot 1 and 3. The vga at slot one, in particular the fitting at slot 1 will kiss the vga2. lolx

i use ek vga HF, sadly, i cant mount compression fitting also for id1/2 od3/4 tube. The is not euf space for me to screw in both compression fitting. No choice, i have to use normal fitting with thin clamp.

cost below RM300 for the EK VGA HF. Vrm wont explode easily. No idea about the warranty but i think 5 series vrm is cooler compare to 4 series. thats why thermalright no more producing vrm heatsink for 5 series nvidia

if i cant change my non-reference design gc then..i might go with universal block..

dennos..since u use universal block..how does it perform compared to the gc full block..?

is there any difference in performance..or the difference is they cool the vram + the looks?

performance wise u cant really see the temperature difference between the full cover and a uni block

but on a certain card the VRM area get really really hot and thats where the full cover card is better

but a ramsink with a bit of air flowing over it should be more than enough to cool it down

i didnt put any sink on the vram. But the vrm is pretty hot from my "human sensor" aka finger. I think its as hot as the milo panas, lol.

But till today, my gtx still alive tru 24/7 folding, gaming, video encoding,........

Added on January 5, 2012, 7:35 pmtake note, vrm is not vram/gddr,

You obviously need to get the VRAM cooled for flagship cards like GTX 570/580. If you don't, there's a risk it will burn and fail. Once there are physical damage, you cannot RMA it anymore.

You can buy RAM sinks and put on those VRM's so that heat could dissipate better. The other reason why people design full blocks for high end cards is because the VRM really needs to be cooled, we're talking about massive power consumption at load. The Arctic coolers supports ALL non reference cards.

Twin Turbo PRO does not support 570/580. You need Xtreme Plus 2 for that
