Hi,

Dont hv any spec but looking at lightweight and rm2k budget. Im considering dell v131. Any other alternative?
*
If you're willing to go for less powerful, can consider the Asus U32U. Increase budget by 200-300 can get the Asus U36SD.

E-450's higher TDP doesn't make it suitable for the smaller 10" netbooks. It's fine with the larger ones because they have better cooling systems.

Do note, 1015B would be the most powerful unit overall but it has been already EOL-ed. So finding stock for it will be difficult.

Warranty isn't an issue with Asus usually, unless you have a model which they do not have access to the parts readily.

Powerful because of the processor mind you. Graphics still lose to the N45SF. laugh.gif

Pretty much an Asus U46SV if you can get it for about RM2200-2300.

And for that hanging problem, Microsoft Office usually saves and recovers documents if a crash happens.

QUOTE(Volt @ Feb 25 2012, 07:11 AM)
Hi guys, Im helping a friend to buy a laptop this weekend. Need a recommendation for a budget gaming laptop that can at least play newest game in low setting. Budget around RM2.5K. Must be light weight, without dvd burner and no larger then 14" (the smaller the better).

Any recommendation? Got few choices like:

- Asus u32u
- Asus u46sd
- Asus VX6S
*
U32U is not powerful enough imho.
VX6S is more powerful but you lack the baterry life.
U46SV is the only one that is powerful enough, is lightweight and is still slim but it has a DVD drive.

Ivy Bridge won't bring too much improvement to the table. Just slightly better battery life due to less heat and power consumption from a 22nm die fabrication.

hi guys what do you think of NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M for med gaming??
*
It's decent enough. Basically strong enough to tackle most games already. Also has the potential to be overclocked to GT540M or even GT550M standards.

Could consider the U46SV. It's more like a 14" laptop in a 13" chassis. biggrin.gif

im just confused which one is better between alienware m14x and asus g53.. hmm.gif what do u think?

and what is your opinion about Samsung Series 5 ULTRA 530U 13" and DELL XPS L511Z LAPTOP? sweat.gif
*
If you are looking for pure performance and value for money, you can't do wrong with the G53SX. The M14X would be a slightly better choice if you're into the bling and a lighter and smaller system.

Memang no problem one la..

Even my Alienware and Sager gets hot when i game alot..

It's normal. The older Dv6 version however, might roast your hands  laugh.gif

I think that was like 1 years ago punya issues.

You want something that does not get hot when you game? Get a Mac  tongue.gif

And as i keep telling you, MAKE SURE THE BOX IS SEALED BEFORE YOU PAY  smile.gif

I don't accept open boxes for what reason whatsoever.

Even the MBP will get hot when gaming. laugh.gif

The MBP15 for example, can get unbearable at times.
