anyone experience problem suddenly unmount of SD card?

i'm currently on stock 2.3.6
how do i get the CWM recovery? do i need to root 1st? i wanted the CWM so i can make backup of my current rom. Planning to install cow's rom..i'm a bit confused now

you need to root first

then download cwm (recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ancora.tar.md5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446593

Select the ops file, and enable one package in options, then load the md5 file with the One Package button. reboot your phone into download mode (vol down + home + power button) and connect usb. click start to flash. don't disconnect the usb, wait until it reboot successfuly

my phones keeps freezing and force closes on cow's latest rom..tried both versions already..

going back to the slim rom now..

Thanx bro, successfully rooted at 2.3.6 & installed CWM recovery. Now after made my nandroid backup, i can play with all these customs roms without worrying..

based on feedback i get so far, most FC only start appear after user recover their app using Titanium or something...

this could be due to permission problem...

anyone encouter FC even if not restoring any app?

so far mine is good, no problem at all, and i dont restore any data using titanium backup.

i encountered multiple FC after i tried to restore mmssms.db ... it's permission problem. got nothing to do with ROM...

i believed Titanium also backup the mmssms.db, so, i think need to use "fix permission" in Titanium or something.

i m not using Titanium btw...

what app do u recommend to do the apps backup?

Me oso same....happened 3-4 times since i use this fon but so far so good

i m not familiar with any backup app!!! i mostly do the backup myself.

i copy the APK out, which is in /data/app

then i backup it's data, which is in /data/data

for sms, i copy the /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases

after install, i just copy them back

i m more like the hand-ons guy

I'm going to flash the rom now, i backup the current rom using cwm, and if anything wrong i just recover it using the cwm, am i right?
