my skin condition: dry skin surface + rich internal oil sebum + EXTREMELY sensitive skin (easily get breakouts or rashes if use wrong products).......face always look shiny/oily due to my rich oil sebum tht release to moisturize my dry surface......

im currently using sesily protective cream sunblock which gives me a SPF 50 of it.
da info for dis sunblock is in dis link :-
http://sienhuay.blogspot.com/2010/05/my-ac...documetary.html
i got it from google search....so thx to da blogger..^^....im using da protective cream which is da number 8th product in dis blog.....

i actually love dis sunblock quite much....as it does have da minimum coverage of my face n will not feel oily as well......n bcoz it is a tinted sunblock tht gives SPF 50...so once apply dis sunblock, my face look flawless...smile.gif (but of coz the flawless jz lasted for da 1st 1 or 2 hours only, coz dis is only a sunblock)......however, there r 2 cons tht i realized :-
1) it is very pricey.....if not mistaken it costs around RM 200++ per bottle (dis is my 2nd bottle)
2) bcoz of its SPF 50...once i applied...my skin is very fair....coz it gives a white layer of protection for my face...so after applying dis sunblock, i will apply bb cream n loose powder....dis makes my face even very whitish @@

* im not a very fair or very dark person...more towards common asian skin colour....light brownish type of skin tone...

since now im finishing my sunblock soon.....im jz wondering shud i switch to try other brands or stick it back to dis brand??coz i have extremely sensitive skin...is not very easy for me to find a suitable sunblock for my skin......n i love dis sunblock very much...

however, bcoz of its high spf level, my face tends to b so fair, especially after i apply bb cream....so shud i :-
1) switch to a brand tht gives strong hydration sunblock (since i have dry skin) n is transparent type?? (which means would not have coverage, jz like moisturizer, no colour 1)...so tht i can find bb cream tht jz suits my skin colour will do.....
2) may i noe is tinted sunblock better or those tht without colour sunblock better?
3) or shud i jz stick back to dis brand.....n bcoz of its high spf level tht tends to make to look fairer, instead changing on sunblock...i change da bb cream tht is darker shade from wat i usually choose...so it balance wid sunblock n gives a balance shade colour??is it possible doing dis to get balance skin tone?

howwww???shud i or shud i not????plz advice me.........TQ!!!!!!!^^

why do you need SPF 50 at the first place? do you go out often and stay under the sun non stop for hours? like sports or working under construction and all. lol

i once was using SPF50 too as i think longer coverage.. bear in mind that SPF 50 is only indicating the longer hours of protection. 1 SPF is equivalent to 20mins of protections.

anyhow, according to HABA, in average, we just need SPF30-38 if we mediumly expose to sunlight. if we use higher SPF and we actually don't expose to sunlight that much, we are actually placing burden onto our skin unnecessarily.

to me, i have used biore UV milk cut sunblock, dr cilabo's sunblock, KISS ME tinted sunblock and am now using KISS ME baby sunblock. I like each sunblock except KISS ME tinted as it has some shimmer on it claiming that it will brighten up your face. anyhow, most japanese sunblock isn't oily like american brands. i.e coppertone, banana boat and all...

shiseido's anessa has high review as well.

hi dear...

lol....i dono whether my current condition consider exposing sunlight much or not....i don do sports...im not working under construction as well, however, i travel quite extensively...most of my time is inside car travelling, hence, will get da chance to expose sunlight while driving..so i tot da higher SPF will more suitable for me, coz it can block da UV rays when im driving..hehe..so is my current condition consider as exposing sunlight freuently??

ooo...u mean da higher SPF it is, da longer hours it can stay for protection izit??i tot da higher SPF, da greater level tht UV rays can b blocked by da sunblock....lol....

so da sunblock tht u r using currently n u used to use....r all tinted type (colour type) or those transparents type??
in ur opinion, tinted type is better or transparent type??coz lots of ppl said tinted type not good for skin...so dono how true it is..but da god thing bout tinted is its provide minimal coverage..hehe....

does tht means da higher SPF it is, da whiter u wil look once apply on ur face??u can use biore product how nice......i allergic to biore products...so i cant use biore..sad.gif

okok.........will take note tht japanese brand is not oilier thn american ones...i hate banana boats smell by da way..lolol...how bout korean sunblock??izit oily??coz if i were to change brand...i will look for hydration type n for sensitive skin type.....

as u noe from my previous thread, i tends to get whitier once apply dis sunblock n da etude house bb cream...so shud i change sunblock to lower SPF to let my face wont so white....or i still stick back to dis sunblock brand, but i change my bb cream to darker shade thn usual,so it can balance up my tone....wat u think???

shiseido...i think is quite pricey for me....lololol.....i heard da IQQU sunblock from michelle phan is good...did u use b4??

for your case, SPF38 is more than enough. SPF is the hours of protection and it's protecting us from UVB, while the PA factor is the level of protection protecting us from UVA. the higher the +, the higher the level of protection it is to give us. hence i always choose PA+++ (that's the highest).

like i mentioned earlier, of all the sunblock i have used, KISS ME is the only one that's tinted and I don't actually fancy tinted because i am going to use make up base later anyway. If you prefer tinted, DHC acne range sunblock is tinted as well. It's serve to give minimum coverage too.. however I haven't use it before but I think I am going to avoid using it as I don't fancy tinted sunblock. hehe!

recently watsons brought in a new series of sunblock from sunplay (if i am not mistaken if it's sunplay but it's a japanese brand). it is written that it's meant for baby; hence even sensitive skin is able to use it. I think it does for hydration too? i don't quite remember. i am still thinking which to switch after i am done with this baby series of KISS ME. hehe!

i have thought of using etude house sunblock too as they were having sales but after trying, even their hydration sunblock, i feel it's oily. so, i think i will stick back to japanese sunblock.

yeah, that's what i heard as well.. the higher the SPF, the whiter it will look but that's appearing in photos. anyhow, the white cast has never been a bother to me because it won't last and i like the brightening effect that it gives me. haha! i guess it's because i am not a frequent user of foundation or bb cream nowadays. all i use is make up base after sunblock, then concealer on areas that need to be concealed and finish the concealing part with loose powder. that's it.. i don't feel my face is overly white or something.. just brighten.

well, if etude house bb cream is too light for your skin tone, try to add a tiny amount of darker shade bb cream or foundation to balance it out to suit your skin tone. when a bb cream is darker than my skin tone, i tend to add in make up base to lighten the color to suit my skin tone.

have you tried shiseido's aqua label range? their red range is hydration and it has sunblock. however, SPF30-ish is the highest SPF while the blue range, which is whitening carries SPF50. hydrating yet not oily or sticky.

haha! IQQU eh.. i have also heard many people complained about IQQU products.i won't thought of trying it if i were you because this brand has greatly tarnished by michelle phan herself. her fans are even walking away from this IQQU brand. their website is unreliable with testimonies because they only approve good comments and will delete all negative comments. and i don't find IQQU any cheaper than shiseido's anessa.

ohh...so tht means a sunblock will contain SPF (which refers to the longevity of the protection) and PA factors (which refers to level of protection) rite??so which means...one can have da highest PA factors (PA+++) to get da highest level of protection but lower SPF rite??so usually da white cast is come from da PA factors or da SPF??hehe....thn probably i need to find a lower SPF 1..like wat u say SPF 38 shud b ok for me...

ohh...so tht means all ur untinted sunblocks, when u apply on ur face, it wont have da white cast, but jz only da brightening effect izit??those untinted sunblocks will not provide any coverage rite??since ur sunblock is those untinted type....do u use make up remover when u wanna clean it or u jz use normal cleanser to clean it??if i were to change to other brand...im thinking whether to change to untinted type or not....coz i heard a lot of ppl said tinted sunblocks r not good for da skin...ooo.....sunplay sunblock...okok will have a look...i tried only its sunblock tht apply on body only.....but tht was few yrs back..lolol...ooo...which sunblock is in ur mind tht u intend to change after ur kiss me??

oh...so tht means after u use sunblock n thn ur make up base...u wont feel overly white izit??wow....u r good in finding shade tht suits u..yaa...i wan brighten effect like urs only..however, everytime after use my sunblock thn da bb cream...really veli white...it get worst when appear in photos...like ghost...lololol...

oo...thx thx for recommendation smile.gif..i will try to get a darker shade bb cream 1st...so far i have only 1 bb cream....haven buy others yet.....hehe

nope..i haven use da sheseido's aqua range yet...SPF 50 for blue range??warrr...like wat im using now...it will end up damn white for me...lololol...i will try to ask for da red range thn..i'll go there n give it a test 1st hehe....izit pricey??coz is very hard to find a good sunblock tht gives hydration without sticky n oily...if dis sheseido is good....i think i will give it a try...thx for recommendation smile.gif

oo izit???i tot IQQU is good...coz i read a lot of good feedbacks from da forum...n i c michelle phan use it quite good...thts y i only curious....i din noe they deleted those negative coments...lolol...da price of it i have ask da seller b4, is around RM 100 per tube..i tot if it is really good, can give it a try...since there r lots of -ve comments, furthermore i have sensitive skin...beter i don simply try....later my face bangkak or breakouts....haha....thx for reminding me ooo...IQQU out of my consideration now...^^...

i don't want to quote too long.. hence chopped off half of it. haha!

hmm i don't know which sunblock to try yet but what i have in mind is DHC (not tinted), aqua label, the red range, hada labo or sunplay new sunblock. haha! i try different sunblock every time i finished one brand. lol.

white cast is the SPF. when i was using etude house bb cream (the lighter shade), i find that if i use that bb cream after make up base, my face turns extremely white. so, whenever i want to use etude house bb cream, i can't use make up base. etude house bb cream is more towards to grayish undertone.. so, i don't really fancy it. haha! i got this bb cream as gift while i have spent RM180 at etude house during their sales. but i think i have used it for less than 5 times and now it's collecting dust there.

try to get bb cream that is beige tone instead of pink or gray or orangy.

and yes, even the sunblock that i am using isn't tinted, i am still using make up remover to remove it because sunblock has a kind of ingredient that cleanser isn't able to wash it off but with cleansing oil.

well to me, after sunblock, then make up base.. i don't feel white but brighten.. but then again the make up base that i am using is in natural tone (like beige) with very little pink undertone. so, yeah it's not white for me but anyhow that's to my skin color as it works differently for everyone with different skin tone and all.

i think aqua label's sunblock is RM49.90 or was it RM59.90? well, it won't be as expensive as the previous sunblock that you have used. lol.

haha! look at michelle phan's dressing table now and see if you can find any IQQU products. she was using it when she was trying to promote it and we wouldn't know if she was actually using it in reality or was just using it in front of her tutorial. but anyway, looking at all her sponsors now.. i don't think she is using IQQU plus she claimed that she has nothing to do with this brand anymore. i mean even when she first promoted this product, i have no intention or whatsoever to try it as well. so, yeah.. if i were you.. i wouldn't try it, really.

just go to makeupalley if you want to know more feedback about IQQU esp her IQQU acne serum.

lololol..........etude house bb cream have only 2 shades i think.....da light one n da darker one......i choose da darker at tht time...n yet still so whitish for me especially after applying sunblock b4 it @@..lolol...act do u mind teaching me how to c whether da bb cream is greyish tone, or pinkish or orangy tone??it looks all da same to me.....jz da shade colour tht diff........so whenever u gals say it is greyish or pinkish or orangy tone...i dono how to diff at all.....

icic...i tot untinted sunblock do not need make up remover to remove it.....lolol...
today i went shu eumura n tested their aqua based sunblock......it is not oily...there r 3 shades, pink/rose, medium beige n beige...da person said i suit for da beige 1, coz medium beige is for darker skin tone....but when i tested da beige one its quite light..looks fine for me coz i tested on my hand.....but i fear tht it wil oso get whitish on my face after apply sunblock...coz smtm u test on hand n test on face da result is diff.lolol....so at last i din buy yet....wanna consider 1st...lolol....

i went guardian to c their sunplay aqua sunblock....but they nv open test bottle there sad.gif...............so din buy yet oso.....lol

i have read da feedbacks for IQQU in makeupvalley there d......wowwwwwwww..really lots of negative feedbacks.............i think 80% all give -ve comments............but most of da -ve commentors r those age 21 or 22 n above..lol...there r still 20% +ve feedbacks....but mostly all below 18 or 20 like dis.....lololol...probably da IQQU product is jz suitable for younger age i think...lol

yeah true oso...michelle phan jz did for tutorial..who noes whether she use daily or not....but cnanot deny tht her skin veli flawless...n perhaps of dis reason, it attracts lots of potential buyers to try it out when she use IQQU in her tutorial......coz every1 wants to have her skin....like me ^^....lolol...well.luckily of ur advice, i stop da intention of buying it......since i have sensitive skin...im sure it will worsen my skin easily...lol....thx smile.gif......

lololol..........etude house bb cream have only 2 shades i think.....da light one n da darker one......i choose da darker at tht time...n yet still so whitish for me especially after applying sunblock b4 it @@..lolol...act do u mind teaching me how to c whether da bb cream is greyish tone, or pinkish or orangy tone??it looks all da same to me.....jz da shade colour tht diff........so whenever u gals say it is greyish or pinkish or orangy tone...i dono how to diff at all.....

icic...i tot untinted sunblock do not need make up remover to remove it.....lolol...
today i went shu eumura n tested their aqua based sunblock......it is not oily...there r 3 shades, pink/rose, medium beige n beige...da person said i suit for da beige 1, coz medium beige is for darker skin tone....but when i tested da beige one its quite light..looks fine for me coz i tested on my hand.....but i fear tht it wil oso get whitish on my face after apply sunblock...coz smtm u test on hand n test on face da result is diff.lolol....so at last i din buy yet....wanna consider 1st...lolol....

i went guardian to c their sunplay aqua sunblock....but they nv open test bottle there sad.gif...............so din buy yet oso.....lol
yup! i know etude house has only 2 shades. that's bb cream anyway.. lack of shades unlike foundation. shu uemura's aqua sunblock? do you mean their UV makeup base? i didn't come across aqua sunblock when i visited there. so, that means their sunblock is tinted?

ohh you can ask them to try it on your face instead. which shu uemura that you went to? yeah that sunplay doesn't have tester yet.. ohh i forgot one more product. it's biore's mousse sunblock.. their aqua range sunblock. but u said you can't use biore stuff right?

hmm.. actually you will be able to see it about the undertone. haha! so, i can't exactly tell you how but you will be able to see it ^^;;

as for michelle phan.. many fans who have seen her in person claimed that her skin doesn't look as flawless as in her video.. because she likes to use overexposure lighting to make herself looks ghastly white; hence the flawless perception. many of her viewers complained that condition around her nose area is horrible as it's covered with oil seeds and all... but all in all.. i don't really bother all those as i am not a fan of hers. so, whatever she does or however she looks like, it don't matter to me. haha! she isn't really my fave guru on youtube anyway.

ohh also, i mentioned before about KISS ME baby sunblock. that's SPF38 PA+++. you may wanna check it out next time you go to watsons.

shu uemura's UV makeup base isn't for hydration if i am not mistaken. it's able to even out your skin tone, let your skin stay matte, reduce redness and cover pores.

BB cream is equivalent to tinted moisturizer for the west. haha! if you are afraid of foundation's heaviness, you can dilute the foundation with make up base with 1:0.5 ratio. 1 with foundation and 0.5 with make up base.

anyhow, if you are keen to try out tinted moisturizer, i will recommend laura mercier. they have wide variety of shades and many ppl have given good reviews too. check out sephora or any laura mercier's counter. tinted moisturizer is lighter than foundation.. it's like just BB cream.

i think their sunblock should be alright for biore.. just try it out. because sunblock formula for many brands out there are almost the same.

yup! beige is more suitable for fair asian skin tone. many make up artists have said that i have pink skin undertone; however they won't use foundation with pink undertone on me as that will make me look more pinkish. so, yeah.. they will usually use beige on me as well..

as for michelle... i really have no further comment on her make up skill.. i will say she does have the idea of make up but she doesn't execute it nicely.. means sloppy skills. if you really wanna see good make up skills, there are jungsaemool, lisaeldridgedotcom, xteeener, sasakiasahi, frmheadtotoe. they are really good esp jungsaemool and lisaeldridgedotcom.. both of them are pro make up artists who make up for celebrities, runway models and etc.. jungsaemool is from korea and lisa is british.

asahi is from japan.. she isn't a make up artist; however she is very creative and executed it nicely unlike michelle. lol. xteeener and frmheadtotoe are makeup artists too but they aren't as big as jung and lisa.

however my all time fave guru is ekimura. she is more towards to light gyaru make up. her make up style is very suitable for my style too. hehe! if you look at those ppl that i mentioned above, you can actually see the difference between their make up skills and michelle's.

u mean for da west......they use bb cream instead of moisturizer???they nv use moisturizer to moisture their face @@...wow...for me, if i nv put on moisturizer it will feel so dry........lololol......but wats tinted moisturizer???izit smth like tinted sunblock like dis??a moisturizer tht have colour n give minimal coverage on face izit??coz dis is da 1st time i heard of tinted moisurizer only.....i nv use a tinted moisturizer b4...i dono there is tinted type of moisturizer....but if u aply such tinted moisutirzer...u need use make up remover to remove it rite??oooo...laura mercier......i noe tht their loose powder is highly rated..but expensive...lolol...im not sure bout others.....

yes ekimura is more towards gyaru look but softer. some gyaru looks are much more dramatic and that's why i like ekimura but of course i didn't put on falsies.

you may go to shu uemura, shiseido, MAC or something equivalent. their beauty consultants are usually well trained and so they will be able to tell you yout skin undertone. however, the make up artists that told me are from japan. i went for kanebo lunasol makeover event when you purchase above certain amount, you can get a makeover from their japanese make up artist. so, whenever someone did make up for me, i will ask them the same question.. what's my skin undertone. and so far most of them.. all of them actually told me i am a bit pinkish undertone.

no no.. they do not use BB cream but to them, BB cream is just like their version of tinted moisturizer. yeah, you could actually skip your moisturizer and use tinted moisturizer. it's just like foundation but with moisturizer. however, even BB cream claimed to have serum and etc etc inside, i will do my daily skin care routine before applying all those.. even bb cream has spf (sunblock factor) i still apply sunblock before bb cream. so, those ppl who are using tinted moisturizer, they do still use moisturizer before applying that.

like i said, tinted moisturizer is like foundation but with moisturizer; hence it's lighter but of course it works much better than those tinted sunblock.

go to sephora or laura mercier counter to try on their tinted moisturizer. ask them to try it on your face and not your hands. i remember their tinted moisturizer is about RM170++? if i am not mistaken.

well, ia m not sure why the beauty consultant told you that; however it's written on the description and it didn't mention about hydration. haha! well, make up base is lighter than bb cream and of course it has no coverage compared to bb cream. i don't wanna put too much things on my face because i am prone to breakout. so, lately, i just use make up base and concealer. that's it as base.

if i am not mistaken, KATE's kanebo freshel BB cream is beige. i heard those who are using it told me as i haven't use it before. the bb cream that i used to use call L'Ocean too is more towards beige tone, that's why i find that it suits me more than any bb cream out there.

pink undertone is the one that we feel that it makes us look whiter/ fairer. and you are correct about bb cream .. they usually have either pink, orangy or gray tone. it depends how much.. like very grayish or just a bit.. very orangy or just a bit.. if just a bit, it's alright because it will oxidize anyway after applying.. so, it will suit your skintone after oxidation. however some bb cream like etude house bb balm.. the purple color tub.. that's too orangy. once applied, even after oxidation, my face still looked orangy. haah!

no no.. you can still use that tinted moisturizer after your normal moisturizer. i want to buy clarisonic mia and try it out.. hope that it will do wonder to my skin in terms of post acne marks and pores.

ohh watsons is having some promotion and KATE's quick eyeliner is selling at RM20++ forgot the exact price but normal price was RM30++ however, it's only for quick eyeliner though. other eyeliner.. has dis as well but not RM20++ i bought the brown color liquid liner. will try to use it tomorrow and see how well it works.

i bought L'Ocean bb cream at one of the orthopedic clinics near kepong area. i just happened to bump into by chances. my mom was doing her knee cap surgery and so she went to that clinic for x-ray and all. so, that doctor's wife, who is a taiwanese and she is .. not sure a dermatologist or aesthetics in taiwan.. anyway, she is selling some korean skin care products and also this BB cream. so, i read about it.. sounds good.. and on that time i have heard about bb cream but haven't used it before.. so, i tried it. (already many years ago). it's quite expensive though because i am sure that bb cream doesn't cost this much. haha! anyway, i bought it at RM128 if i am not mistaken.

so, yeah that's the only place i know is selling as i haven't seen it selling anywhere in malaysia.

As i know, hydration and moisturize are come together as the skin hydration level only can be maintain when the skin is moisturized.

this is clarisonic mia. it's a skin buffer from the US.

as for KATE's quick eye liner.. well, i think it stained my upper lid where deja vu didn't do that to my eyelid. you know perhaps out of all KATE's eyeliner, this is the range that didn't work that well and so that's why they are selling it at such a low price? haha!

it just stained my upper lid a little at the end of the day.

hydration and moisturizer are used interchangeably.

moisturizer acts to form a shield on our skin's surface to prevent moisture loss; hence our skin will feel softer and smoother. hydration has to do with the water content on our skin. hydration also means replenishment of moisture or water to our skin. hence, we should replenish moisture of our skin first before we moisturized. means.. hydrate our skin first in order to keep that moisture from our moisturizer. hydration keeps our skin plump and supple.
