2.48%) rebate + interest .
if you spend rm 5666 monthy x 12 = 68000 yearly .
you may gain 880 + 600 = 1480 ( equivalant of cash rebate 2.2%)
*
spend RM5K/month every month and your returns without interest = 1.46%

And if you spend RM7.5K/month every month, your returns without interest = 1.64%

In my blog, I have given an example showing than one earns less than 1.5% with RM100K per year spending (where each month the transaction amount is different).

THE PRO is If you able to spend monthly rm9000 wink.gif
you get rm50x 12 = rm 600 (cap rebate)+ rm 1800 (bonus) = rm 2400 ( = 2.48%) rebate + interest .

so if you are big spend can get 108k a year to spend . each actually very  good wink.gif much better than alot of 0.5% unlimited. (rm108k x 0.5% = rm540 only)

Yes, this card is good if you spend RM108K per year, like in your case where you use your credit card to pay for company monthly fixed expenses. But spending more than RM108K, your returns becomes less, is like you are penalized for spending more rclxub.gif

If you spend RM14K/month every month, your returns without interest = 1.43%

Side note, next time your company is being audited/investigated by LHDN, let us know if the investigating officer query you on the reimbursement vouchers made to your name (RM100K is a big amount and I doubt they will miss it). I was questioned for RM10K reimbursement few years back doh.gif If no, all of us can go offer our services to companies and give them like 0.5% discount and earn extra pocket money biggrin.gif

Like I mentioned in my article on Hong Leong Bank Fortune Visa Cash Back (click here to read it), this card is complicated (for personal use) and the cardholder has to waste time keeping track of his/her expenses.

If this card was so good, all the big spenders here will be holding this card, but I guess they got no time to go keep track of all their expenses, because if one miscalculate, they be losing out hahaha

To ALL big spenders (for personal use) that requires a Visa or MasterCard for local spending, your other options besides HLB Fortune are:

Seriously, if one spend up to RM9K per month (or RM108K/year), the best card is get is Alliance Bank Premium Debit Card which earns the cardholder guaranteed 2% for every transaction, credited monthly instead of yearly.

And if one spend RM5000 per month, the best credit card is Alliance Bank Platinum where the cardholder can earn guaranteed 1.5% cash back PLUS points which will also add up to close to 2%.

And with the two Alliance cards above, you can have up to RM14K expenses which can earn you guaranteed more than 1.5% cash back. And with this two cards, can get free access to KLIA and LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge.

And for AMEX charge card holder that spends above RM20K per year, look into Turbo points for next year i.e. March or April smile.gif but also has a cap on the total bonus points.

Gen x ..how do u it by only 1.43%? Because if u add the anniversary 1800 it become higher 108k with 2400 rebate per year.
*
what you mean by become higher? Maybe I don't understand the complicated rebate system and you can show me what you mean.

QUOTE(bertdeen30 @ Dec 24 2011, 06:46 PM)
If I'm not mistaken they use rm5000 capped total rebate is rm70. With point 200point can change rm1. It worth rm 25 +70 so near 2% am I correct?

Yes, you are correct. Max cash rebate RM68.75/month. Like I said, good if you spend RM5K/month i.e. not more than RM5K/month. Well, maybe up to RM67,999/year tongue.gif

Below are examples assuming one earns 0.5% from Alliance Plat points.

If you swipe RM5K per month, then Alliance beats HLB Fortune; but, once you spend RM68K to RM320K, HLB Fortune better than Alliance Plat. However, if you continue and spend more than RM320K per year, the Alliance Plat is even better than HLB Fortune rclxub.gif Like I said, HLB Fortune penalizes you if you spend more than RM108K.

Well, actually,

if you spend equal or less than RM37,999, Alliance Plat beats HLB Essential and HLB Fortune.

if you spend less than RM67,999 or less, Alliance Plat still beats HLB Essential and HLB Fortune.

if you spend between RM68K to RM164,999, HLB Fortune beats Alliance Plat and HLB Essential; BUT, Alliance Plat still beats HLB Essential.

if you between RM165K to RM239,999, HLB Fortune still clear winner but HLB Essential beats Alliance Plat.

if you spend more than RM240K, HLB Essential better than HLB Fortune doh.gif

As usual, there is no one good card but one needs a combination of cards. So I would say HLB Fortune good for spending RM108K to RM240K (returns >1%).

Having said the above, for up to RM14K/month, once again combination of Alliance Premier Debit Card and Alliance Plat may earn you more.

Come to think of it, best combination for non AMEX card spending up to RM288K/year (actually RM276K but 288 nicer number, haha) in no particular order (you got to figure out yourself based on your monthly expenses) -

RM120K use HLB Fortune Credit Card and earn RM2400 or 2%

RM60K use Alliance Plat and earn 2%

RM108K use Alliance Premier Debit and earn 2%

more than RM288K, switch to HLB Essential, SCB Biz Plat or MBB VI tongue.gif

So in conclusion, I just gave you the conclusion what the Fortune card is good for tongue.gif

And come to think of it, I should also post above in Earn Pocket Money with your CC thread and my blog too; then again maybe not, it may be too complicated for others to understand what I just wrote and to keep track of their expenses, hahaha.
