Let me guess, you have just completed total accumulative 108k spending this month and they straight give you 1800?
*
Yepp, they gave me upon hitting the 108k (10 months), instead of 12 months. In previous years I only hit the RM68k, and received it on card anniversary month (March). But this year I hit RM108k and received in Jan!

well. that is because you still have time to go further for 108k in previous years so they don't immediately credit the bonus to you.
*
Yepp that makes sense but I didn't know they would be so generous to pay out before the year is up.

Hi Guys,

As reported earlier, I received my RM1,800 yearly bonus 2 months earlier than expected (i.e. Jan instead of March). I've already cashed it out into my SA.

However, now when I look at my HLB Fortune CC transaction listing online, I keep seeing this line item saying "YEARLY BONUS REBATE RM0.0" (but no amounts posted). So far there are 4 entries - 4, 18, 19 and 20 o f January! Doesn't have any impact on my CC balance, but just wondering if any of you have encountered the same?

maybe HLB is trying to remind you that you have reached max cash bonus. So all the spending from now till March does not entitle any cash bonus.

i did not have the same message appear.
*
I think you're right! I get this line item one day after spending. Haha. Makes sense now. I will still spend the RM5k per month to get my normal monthly CB.

Need some info from Fortune card holders,
in the statement i sawt DAILY EARNING REBATES RM50, and i  get 0 rebate.

How to earn daily rebates?

THanks
*
This is actually your 1% monthly cashback capped at RM50.

To redeem you go to "other services" then "redeem Fortune credit card" on HLB online.

So for additional earning of real cashback, we can only get it on card anniversary date even if we hit 108k earlier?
*
I got mine in the month I hit, which was 2 months earlier.

Hi, may i ask if you still can get the monthly RM50 cash bonus for the month Feb and March, after you hit the RM108K spending on January? thank you.
*
Yes, I got the monthly amounts every month, not affected by hitting the bonus.

May I ask after spend rm108k, the cash rebate rm1800 would be automatic credited or need to call cs to double confirm ?
*
Automatic. But you may wish to track manually so you can monitor when you hit.

Say your 1 year cycle is from 1.11.2018 -30.10.2019 and you  hit target RM108k swipes early, ie on 25.9.2019, you get your RM1800 bonus early.
then you swipe again another RM9000 in Oct 2019,

I heard that RM9k swipe in Oct 2019 will  still get RM50 monthly CB
but not sure if that 9k swipe is considered as part of the next RM108k target or not, since the next cycle starts only from 1.11.2019

Any one got experience?

From my experience, when I hit the RM108k and got my bonus "early" (in Jan 2019 instead of my usual anniversary on 31 Mar / 1 Apr 2019 - my cycle ends in Mar):

- I still received the RM50 monthly CB for subsequent months (Feb and Mar)

- On 1 April (my usual anniversary), there is a line item saying "YEARLY BONUS REBATE RM0.0".

Based no the above, I therefore infer that your normal "cycle" will be maintained no matter how early you hit the RM108k, and that spending will be tracked within that fixed annual cycle. I never bothered "confirming" with CS as I like to do trial and error for myself, but just sharing my experience.

sounds like whatever additional swipes before the new cycle starts might not be counted (towards achieving next  RM108k)?

You track your spending can find out the answer by the time  achieve next RM108k target.
Whether next RM108k target included those additional swipes in the old cycle  or not.
*
I believe it's not counted.

OK - still got many more months before that happens, and I hope by then the current benefits will still be in place.

For the last round I only exceeded my RM108k by RM15k (Jan to Mar, spent only RM5k/monthly exactly).

For this round, I am almost halfway through my annual cycle, but only spent RM56k to date. Perhaps I will only be able to hit RM108k in my normal anniversary month of March 2020. I keep detailed manual records to make sure I am on track, as there is almost a 1k CB difference between the 68k and 108k thresholds and I don't want to miss out on the full RM1,800.

need  more people to clarify this important issue.

QUOTE(Barricade @ Feb 12 2020, 10:44 PM)

If you swipe RM6k and convert to RM500 x 12, the RM6k is taken into consideration of your yearly spending.
*
Your posts should be correct. If you take the other interpretation, then any spending converted into FPP would not even qualify for the monthly cashback (which does not make sense). I can confirm that I have been maxing out on FPP every single month and have got full monthly CB.

My anniversary month is March. I always plan my spending to be only slightly above 108k. I will confirm if I get the full annual CB amount then. If you deduct my FPP, I don't think I even qualify for second tier hahahaha.

thanks for clarification

PS:@lilsunflower, Do you use FPP credit as payments to offset FPP installment due?
*
Yes - I treat FPP credits as "payment" and have never incurred charges.

Looking at my Fortune Feb 2020 statement:

I have 6 separate FPP instalment charges amounting to RM6,300
Then I have RM10k retail expenditure
I did an FPP conversion of FPP15,000 (credited), leaving RM1,300 outstanding
Then for next statement, I just paid balance to zero

This is my usual pattern for all my cards (HLB Fortune, Essential, VI) and I don't even bother tracking FPP instalments vs credits, as I just make sure that credits for the month = statement balance.

At one point I had 7 0% FPP running on the same Fortune card. Basically each subsequent FPP kept rolling on to pay the next...

Every time I saw 0% FPP, I whacked all the way, except for months where I had insufficient credit limit.

For this reason I request for permanent CL increase with each annual salary hike.

a bit off topic. there was a time i had a lot of BT from other banks and FPP. I never miss any payment. But when coming to apply for new cc, i was rejected. I guess they consider i have too high commitment.  doh.gif
do you have similiar 'problem'?
*
Hasn't happened to me yet and there was one time I was maxed out on BT with Aeon, MBB, HLB, HSBC and PBB up to the very maximum possible. Was still able to get 6 digit CL CCs, as I also play the "cancel and reapply frequently for acquisition rewards" game.

The only one card that I think was affected was my 7th round of applying to HSBC after many rounds of cancellations. They only awarded me CL of 30k for a Visa Signature! They only increased it a year later after I applied for their Premier Banking.

I don't have any housing or car loans though so I'm not sure if that makes a difference? I wouldn't be so aggressive if I had to apply for loans as I'm sure no bank would take me on.

congrats!
this year HLB paid you upon hitting RM108 K ?
if i'm not wrong, last year you got it earlier, before the annual year cycle.
*
Thanks

This year I only hit in final month (March) and I got paid at start of April. It was only last year when I was paid a couple of months early but I also remember there was some weird stuff going on there with a few of us getting late normal cashback in early 2019.

With the reduction in BP quota and reduced family holidays ahead.... I definitely can't hit top tier next year.
