Hmm, i thought people usually compare the tammy70200/2.8 with the 70300G since theyre about the same price? Im very satisfied with my 70300G though. Focusing speed is superb, iq, size, etc..

QUOTE(chiahau @ Mar 2 2012, 11:45 AM) You wrong liao.. Saw an youtube comparison of tamron 70-200 2.8 vs tamron 70-300 f4 (on nikon) the 70-300 perform better in iq wor while handheld. The Tammy 70-200 f2,8 is very good and decent lens, value for money. The sharpness beats the Sigma 70-200 which is priced at 3k++, only fault of the Tammy is noisy AF motor, which I care not.... On the 77, the focusing is pretty decent, won't say it's slow or anything. Back to your question - Does the 1/2stop of aperture makes a big difference? Not really, but if got half a stop lower, might as well have it then not having it. SSM and USD ,Is it comparable in speed/sound wise(AF can be heard in video?)? SSM/USD nearly the same, but I would say, SSM more quiet by a small margin. Plus, the SSM focusing speed will beat the USM pretty much everytime. Build quality/material , user opinion needed.(any peeling of coating on lens body?) Built quality, both is decent for its price. IQ wise ( which is much vibrant/nice ?) IQ would award it to the G, though the Tammy is pretty decent itself. coolness factor ignored. Both lens also black in color, only the Tammy is bigger, what is cool? Lol. Its nice if sample is shown. Sample no have, never really owned this lens, only played with it at office. Finally, if you have the budget, I rather you go the Tamron 70-200 f2,8 QUOTE(ieR @ Mar 2 2012, 12:59 PM) Added on March 2, 2012, 1:02 pm got noise meh? that bad? i tested a unit belong to a friend, with A55, okay ler, not really that loud (compare to the buildin motor unit for canon and nikon which i tested sometime ago..) QUOTE(lwliam @ Mar 2 2012, 01:06 PM) Haha 1/2 stop, ISO 400 jump to ISO500 easily recovered d in the bright end. No difference in IQ also with that small difference. But but but , based on the internet, both lens are comparable. not rich, saving ade ma..You need to be remember that you're comparing a 2k lens with a 3k lens. OF COURSE the G will win in any way la, else the hell would I pay the premium for the G for? You rich like egg with Omega-3 of coz say the G is good la. think of other mia budget constraint also maaa. |

QUOTE(lwliam @ Mar 3 2012, 03:20 AM) Increasing ISO doesn't affect whether the lens will hunt or not. Increasing ISO increases sensitivity of the sensor to light, not the sensitivity of the AF module to focus in the given light. higher iso = more light to sensor, more light = fast /accurate af. therefore less hunting . Correct me if my thought is wrong Didnt mention my question to newbieeee properly . |

QUOTE(soket @ Mar 4 2012, 03:12 AM) Already found outBased on edpaul comment above: There is 3 basic sensor inside the camera, the main capturing sensor, so ISO won't increase the amount if light going in, just the method of collecting light via sensor is boosted. The af sensor, where the accuracy if the focus rely on this sensor. The metering also the white balance sensor. Which sit on top of the ovf. But the slt bring this job onto the mainsensor, for more accuracy of wb and eV metering, for those who doesn't know why slt is good, the metering has drastically improve with 1200zone compare to ovf of 41 segments. |

QUOTE(ieR @ Mar 13 2012, 01:18 AM) jimlim007: no ler, that one very simple, u see the line, just click 4 place only, LOL ! got trolled. yuhi: thanks Zicron, Zhao, zstan: the three Z... hahaha, well, actually i lied... it was shot with A580+135Z the white thing supposedly to give 'dirt/dust/photopaper scratches' feel. Added on March 13, 2012, 1:27 am i would highly recommend sal55-200. either its SAM or non SAM (SAM is built in motor). the non SAM still can AF with sony alpha body. and i will advise to avoid the 75-300 lens. I even thought of you using htc |
