Hi mates. I'm using a Radeon 1gb Radeon 4870 paired with a Xigmatek Bifrost cooler. Last 2 weeks the fan on the cooler started making scratchy sound (presumably from worn bearing) which led me to DIY my own fan on the cooler. At first I fixed a 120mm Silent fan (about 60cfm according to the box), let it run and got a recorded temperature of about 49 on idle and 58 on load. So results looked good. I proceeded to buy another 120mm fan of the same spec and hooked 2 together. after a while I took the temperature. Idle was at 48 and load was 58. I'm baffled. I thought 2 fans are better but obviously not in this case. could it be that the lowest temperature the cooler can offer is 48? Since single and dual fan config yields about the same reading.

have you tried using single fan for the graphic card and adding additional fan to ur chasis?
make sure the air flow in ur chasis goes smoothly...

If ur casing airflow is bad and high room temperature/ambient adding extra fans also won't give significant different.
Or could be the new cooler already reached its performance limit. U might wanna reseat the cooler & replace a better thermal paste like MX4.

I have 1 120mm fan pulling the hot air out from the case, and also 140mm fan on the PSU. I have previously applied AS5 to the core.
