You need to know what is the quality, thickness of glass, thickness of aluminum, Lock, hinge.. All this make price so much difference. From RM 30++ to RM 100++ / square feet.

How about the quality and the strenghten? Since the frame is aluminium holding the glass and always sliding moving, the toughness and strengthen need to be strong. And the locking device too.

Well if quality is your priority then go for the brand Fujisash.
Solid construction with cleverly concealed hinges, exceptional
sound proofing, minimal air/odour transfer and water sealed.
Its Japanese technology with a factory in Butterworth and a sales/
marketing office in SS23 Tmn SEA PJ.

I nearly opted for Fascina which is Upvc construction but decided to
go for Fujisash due to the savings. Nearly 65k was spent on folding/
sliding doors & windows for my hse reno.....no regrets.

RM65k ! I will regret. sad.gif

I intruduce by a Japanese salesman about their YKK folding doors and windows. Famous and common in Japan. The windows and door look tough and the parts look different from ordinary folding door.

Eh... I thaught YKK is famous of their zip. hmm.gif

Many type of folding spread malaysia market which alot of it is self modified just to save costing.(try modified a kancil become BMW 5 series then u know what i mean)Aluminium brand name like Fujisash and LB are most practical all time and the most important is free maintenance. While installer with superb quality finishing is like Premium window, Le diament i saw before their job is like this thumbup.gif thumbup.gif( but aint cheap) So choose wisely ask from your installer what kind of aluminium they using and what kind of roller, lockset, hinges and flush butt.Good luck
Price range 30 to 80 per sqft might get you modified thing while 100 to 180 per sqft will get you nice quality folding door.

I saw the aluminium glass door at homedec - reliance home and sun way aluminium. Definitely sun way was better, very solid. The price from sun way is rm100 per sqft, and rm120 per sqft if painted like wood grain. I was quoted by my contractor for rm160 per sqft for LB aluminium. Not sure what is the difference.

Guys i like the big folding door like some poster above have shown. It give a lot of natural lighting and when open up can give spacious kind of feeling. However my concern is on security. It will be ugly to grill the big door and it beats the purpose of having unobstructed view to my garden. Any suggestions how do you guys overcome the security issues?

Hi,
Does anybody have a security comparison between Fujisash and AMAX (316 stainless steel mesh door from Australia). I'm interested in getting a security door to replace my glass aluminium door. I don't want to put in a grille (it'll look very ugly).

I've not been able to get any reliable information on Fujisash at all, but AMAX was in the recent home fair in Sunway and I'm planning to visit their showroom in Kota Damansara soon.

its very well made.

dont go to Sungai Buloh there, its not a showroom and you will never find that place LOL cause I went there before, its like really out in the boonies laugh.gif

Great smile.gif. I just called Jerry and we're arranging an appointment. In terms of rough quotation, the pricing is equivalent to Amax, but it does have glass.

Nah, glass is ~ RM80/sqft, mesh is RM125/sqft. Now it's only whether I trust Australian, Italian, or Japanese products more.... hmm.gif

I need a more detailed look at their design.

You can contact Arxtech (posting a few posts above). I got a quote of roughly RM 125/sqft. It's likely to range from RM70 to RM 145 / sqft, depending on how secure you want the mosquito door, and the design.

Just visited Fujisash, it is not "mesh steel" sliding door but soft mesh similar to insect screen.

You can check out arxtech, web link is posted here, in earlier posts. Call them

I went to their factory in SG buloh, not easy to locate.

Seen this door there, aluminium framework with steel mesh, price around RM 145 sqft, I asked for the door in the gallery, price is RM 6-7K for 5 ft wide.

Hi cwtien,

I went to their SG buloh factory, located in SG buloh, feels like a movie set on post doomday in earth. Those who are used to pavilion mall will get a shock.

Got their quotation at RM 125sqft for steel mesh sliding door, and with my long sliding glass door now at 22 ft, it will cost me RM 18K for full added protection. Got quotation for wrough iron galvanised powercoated grille from 3 Kim, about RM 7.3K and mosquito net from vitally, comes up to RM 2.5K: total RM 10 K.

So it is 18 k solution vs 10 k solution. But the arxtech guy said that they can build 4 panels of mesh sliding door, instead of 6 panels (currently, my condo got 6 panels of glass sliding door), leaving 2 fixed end glass panel unprotected but offered armorshield film to protect the glass from another vendor armorshield. 4 panel of steel mesh comes up to RM 12K. Now RM 12k vs RM 10k solution. With motion detector spotlight and alarm system, thief will be long gone before reaching the glass sliding door.

I think for a condo it is fine as thief need to pass main security with registration, and use passcard with CCTV to gain entrance to main building, not for house.

Try magestec at curve 2nd floor, they have a cheaper similar door coz mesh steel is 0.9 mm, see their video for demo. But arxtech is 1.2 mm mesh steel. According to majestec, 0.9 is good enough.

To be honest, more probably don't really need all this security thingy. There are many ways of entering the house other than through glass. Also depend on your area and security guard. I am staying in 2 stories terrace, some neighbours doesn't even bother on grill and just normal glass.

Thanks to this forum, I just did my aluminium window with Superior Home & Shower in Bandar Puteri Puchong.

Pretty good workmanship, the window was solid and sturdy. Got a really good price as well, HALF of what other shops quoted me.

The salesperson Tommy (0173246091) was very friendly and professional.

Highly recommended! thumbup.gif

I did my folding door with Norva window and the quality and service is very good and the most important thing they deliver in time compare some of the window that I order from Reliance. By the way the cost of high end folding door cost higher around rm90 psf.
