QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Apr 12 2012, 07:18 AM) dont say safe mode, even switch on the laptop, i cant even do that...i'm pretty sure the mobo is a goner QUOTE(Ikmal91 @ Apr 12 2012, 08:04 AM) Holy hell. But I've played ME3 for way longer than you did. Around 4 hours and 2 days of never shutting down my laptop. Did good lol. did u play it in one go? i played 2h+ in one goThough the left palm rest was ready to make an omelette. the part that is hot is the power button area, left palm is ok...but still kaput...so so sad... and yesterday was the first day i went outstation (ipoh here) for holiday, dang, hopefully later on go to the service centre can give me some hope and hopefully my data in harddisk can be saved, and the window is not corrupted, coz there r too many data inside and i always keep track of my laptop heat reading when playing game, CPU around 86-89 and GPU around 75-78...still the mobo burned... QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Apr 12 2012, 08:34 AM) I'd play dota for 2-4 hours straight. No problem... yet. problem is...it cant even detect the power alre (the LED light which will light when u connect the power, currently, it remains dim) i pretty sure, mobo is kaput...the first thing that came in my mind was...coolsense is totally not cool at all...FYI, Dota 2 is more intensive than ME3. Have u try power cycle? Disconnect/unplug everything including the battery and press the Power button for 30 secs. When u send to SC, tell the CS not to reformat your HDD or else you'll sue them. You went outstation and got time to play ME3? Ayam jeli. just took it to SC, the first thing they told me was "we r not responsible for any data lost" i told them, if require reformating, pls let me know first (really hope nothing went wrong in the software, outstation as in holiday, holiday meaning got time to play lo QUOTE(Ikmal91 @ Apr 12 2012, 11:21 AM) Yeah I played in one shot. Of course I took out the battery because the freaking heat would kill it. I never keep track of the heat readings lol. the previous laptop i had (was a acer) white screen, black screen, blue screen, red screen all alre came out, but never have hardware failure be4, feel really disappointing when my new hp heat management and durability is worse than that acer(coz that one is real frying pan, yet, never fried any part of it) It's alright. Good luck with your laptop dude. Though I'm pretty sure nobody else gets a BSOD when playing both iTunes and a few Youtube vids at the same time. yea, hope that my laptop is ok (in the software and data part, too many my stuff inside), and can be fixed pretty soon, coz leaving by mon...and i told them try their best to finish by monday... |

QUOTE(foogie @ Apr 12 2012, 12:57 PM) i have 2 dv6s, both also heating problems like mad. The hp service center in damansara heights is my regular stop (dunno how many times i have to go there already). once is graphics card burn (artifacts), once laptop dead after leaving overnight, cant startup at all, motherboard burnt, once fan stopped working, once fan making noise. Anyways, the technician is quite good, now both laptops are working better now, after i requested to talk to the technician personally, and asked him to work something out. Definitely go for extended warranty, and make sure HP service center is really close to where you are staying. else, don't get this laptop so...what actually u worked out there? in term of improving the dv6 durability? |

QUOTE(foogie @ Apr 12 2012, 02:14 PM) Thermal paste, change to the old 6001 series motherboard (the newer 6001 batch dv6s come with the lousier 6100 mobo, quite bad. Not to mention that graphics switching is stuck at dynamic. Which means being able to play battlefield 3 only in windowed mode. The older mobos have fixed graphics switching, better stability, and better gaming experience, since u dun have to meddle with graphics switching for each app. Plus, battlefield 3 runs in full screen - difference between being fragged and fragging ppl). oh crap, i didnt mention which ver of mobo the should change...d*mn! oh btw, the graphic switching one...6001 is not really stuck in dynamic for my case, i can just assign it to ATI card for all time long whether on battery or not QUOTE(nothingz @ Apr 12 2012, 02:21 PM) they usually don't have ready stock to repair your laptop, they need to order from KL, your laptop may have to park there for 3 working days at least. my 6114tx also changed LCD panel twice already at ipoh service centre. although their QC is not the best but their service is still acceptable. well, then hopefully after changing will not be problem again...i don't play games with my 6114tx but sometimes it will also heat up when i play videos/youtube QUOTE(Netto Hikari @ Apr 12 2012, 03:53 PM) O.o i play skyrim cont for 8H also never shutdown b4. just send to hp ipoh bah, all hp sc normally has 3days turn around time. i have luck problem for this, i think i'm first to hit mobo burn out during overheat case. hopefully it really is 3 days turnaround, as i'll be back to KL on monday afternoon.. |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Apr 12 2012, 05:36 PM) That scares me a little. Sometimes i tortured mine like no one business. u're lucky then...The problem is that, if they don't have stock for 6000 series mobo they will use 6100 mobo which have dynamic switching and being 6001tx with 6100 series mobo make you stuck with dynamic switching without the option to change to fixed in BIOS. i'm the unlucky one with U2 below it (which seems a waste of money) doesnt help on heat reduction at all note to self: next time play game/do heavy duty stuff on hp in an air con room only crap, if they really give me that dynamic switching mobo...then how exactly am i going use the ATI card for important matter? eg: ATI for ME3 and in full screen mode ATI for 3d max rendering/progress |

QUOTE(Netto Hikari @ Apr 12 2012, 06:00 PM) u can ask the sc to c if it is possible to do it asap with the express service. if got stock, it can be done within a day, else just wait till u r back to KL only send to sc. i alre sent to ipoh SC this morning, and let them know that i'm going back on Monday, if possible, finish by then. They say they will try their best, hopefully QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Apr 12 2012, 06:12 PM) I just play Skyrim for 1h+ with max CPU temp = 83c with TurboBoost limited to x23 multiplier and max GPU temp = 78c in non-aircond room. well, i think so...I guess u just had a really bad thermal paste application. No worries about ME3 in dynamic but you gonna have problem with 3DsMax since it use OpenGl? You can't use dGPU on OpenGl with Dynamic switching or is it 3DsMax can use D3D as well? when take back the laptop, i think i should play game in a limited time then. and also need ur consultation ???i'm not too knowledgeable in the hardware dept. well, everything can only know after i get back my laptop, as they said "we dont keep stock, we have to order, depending which part we need to repair ur laptop" so most likely they will order according to my laptop original mobo series? hopefully |
