Same here. I get BSOD's after playing iTunes and Youtube. Don't know why. Now my games lag too. Have to put lowest settings for MW3 to play properly. Before this I had put the highest settings and it'd still be playable biggrin.gif
*

Even iTunes? doh.gif

MW3 on lowest sweat.gif thats something to trouble shoot. Did you monitor the GPU with MSI Afterburner?

QUOTE(keyzjh @ Jan 13 2012, 06:39 PM)
I'm still trying to recreate a BSOD so that i can check it with bluescreenview. My BSOD usually occur during shutdowns or opening the laptop lid though.
*

Try waking up from hibernate. Our Pinoy DV6er reported he got 3 BSOD from 10 hibernates.

QUOTE(storky20 @ Jan 13 2012, 06:50 PM)
Hmm my DV6 detected my graphics card as a 6700M series instead of a 7690M XT after installing the latest Catalyst drivers.

Is this something to worry about?
*

11.12? i don't think it has proper naming for 7000 series yet. You might need to wait for this or next month driver. Does the default clock still showing 725/900 after u installed latest AMD driver?

No idea. MSI Afterburner didn't show any numbers at all and all was blank sweat.gif

Uninstalling the Catalyst seems to make it detected as a 7690M XT again though. Oh well. Got to be patient then.

Those naming are given thru driver .inf file matching the Device ID. Only HP .inf file will name the card correctly, AMD driver will name it as AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series.

I've check .inf from 11.12 and 12.1-prev, there is no HD 7600M Series yet but that doesn't mean the card won't work accordingly.

Pretty sure I've switched to High Performance.
But to think that my laptop doesn't heat up that much playing MW3. Hmm.....

I see well, till then I'll stick with the AMD drivers then. Don't seem to be able to overclock it at the moment though.

On a side note, anyone can tell me how to clean the fingerprint smudges off the laptop lid? It's very annoying and ugly la when it's there. Not that obvious from far but quite obvious on close inspection.

You can use Sapphire Trixx or MSI Afterburner for non-oc more features.

Tried both MSI Afterburner and Sapphire Trixx. Both won't let me go its factory settings. I've tried doing the unofficialoverclockingmode=1 thing for Afterburner and it still won't let me go. It's all stuck at 0 blink.gif

Forgot u not using 6000 series sweat.gif .. u need to include Trixx or MSI executable into CCC High-Performance GPU whitelist or set graphic switching method to FIXED in BIOS and use High-Performance GPU.

Okay. This is weird. When I run MSI Afterburner, everything runs smooth as silk. Without it, it f***s up as if it's using Intel graphics. DAFUQ?!

So what's up with this BSOD? Right after trying to start Rage. sleep.gif

Probably something on the background forced your GPU to use 2D clock. hmm.gif

I gave up troubleshooting RAGE.sleep.gif Imba problematic game.. ppl said its playable if you use HP driver v8.882.

Switched the BIOS to fixed and it worked. Thanks smile.gif

Seriously though, anyone know of anything to clean the smudgy fingerprints off the laptop lid? Using my spectacles cloth and it works, albeit slowly.

Gotta say. Bumped my core clock/memory clock to 800/900 and AC: Revelations runs ALOT smoother than when it did before. No more stuttering and minor lag. Feel damn satisfied.
