Simple thumb rule, want best support, get the flagship phone.
For example, SGSII will get better support than Galaxy Ace II anytime.

But still best support is still not gd enough for us most of the time.

Happen on me before, have to use Odin to reflash the ROM,
if your pc can't detect the phone, the install kies in your pc

What ROM are you using now? Last time I flash to lighting ROM
as long as the ROM is not wipe data then any will do

Try to get into recovery mode before you flash,
see if you can reflash rom via CWM or not? That will save you some effort.

Vol up + home button + power button

It's buggy, make my phone can't flash ROM in recovery mode.

Lucky I have nandroid backup to restore my phone.
Maybe just me, but better becareful than sry
