Cause in my room got no 3G or HSPDA coverage, tried switch to gsm only mode totally cant get any data service even in HSPDA pda area

If you use DIGI unlimited plan, you can always use google maps.
If offline maps, I use sygic. Another GPS software is papago and ndrive.

I see...I don't have unlimited data plan duh. So, should i go for sygic?

Sygic is not free as you have to pay for the software.. which is 12 Euros for SG&MY map

Google map is free but without voice navigation for now, but you need to pay for data

Btw guys I think I wanna root my phone to gain super user access so that I can use Avast's Firewall program to control app activity.

Problem is that the instruction for rooting for G version sounds very technical and confusing Or maybe I should seek services from someone to do it for me for a fee

It is easy to root. Just follow the method on the 1st page and it will take you less than 10 mins to root your phone. I have rooted both the G and non-g versions.

i'm umobile user and i have this problem as well.
i still got another question, if i'm roaming under celcom from umobile(for eg. Rawang,Genting), i could not get any data service which make my S2 useless only for phone call n sms.
anyone umobile user can confirm this?

Yes..finally Samsung release firmware updates to M'sian user. And hyper jump somemore. No 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 but straight to 2.3.6 ~~LOL~~
p/s - firmware meant for non-G version.

I believe its the prelude to ICS. Better late than never lo.

i dunno what happen to my phone..
Seems cannot be charged.
when i wake up this morning my phone is totally off and tried to on
During boot, it shows battery icon with yellow triangle warning message.

Tried to reboot through CWM, success but after that it will off again (my battery already 0% and cannot be charged)

Also tried to take out battery. Same thing also.

Is it my battery or phone issue?

DX usually meant for Malaysia/Singapore. Just check if you got update in Kies.

Added on December 27, 2011, 8:24 amI think some had this happen before. Try take your batt out, let is cool down, then put it back in and try charging it but dun turn on yet until there is sufficient charge in batt.

Actually, all you need to do is read the guide summary on the first page of any forum.. Using doomlord's method, you just need a single click without any software configuration (on the PC).
