Mine's still unrooted but I can move apps to external SD. Is there something I'm missing?

I think flip up / down is less effort than side flip. Faster too. If given the choice of a flip cover, I rather have flip down (not flip up) for the phone. Comes more natural for me. Really tempted with the Zenus one but then I found it was flip up and the other was a side flip.

Anyway, base on what I use the phone for (more calling and taking pics), going naked with a pouch is still the best. If it was to be used mainly like a tablet, I would take the flip case anytime.

Now that you mention it, yes I do agree with you. I was initially beginning to accept the extra effort needed with perhaps some awkwardness with a flip case for style and more protection but taking pics does seem to be a chore.

Something like invisibleSHIELD or iDEFENCE?

Yeah, I think 1U only does basic troubleshooting and collection of phones that require servicing. They send it somewhere else for service.

Errr... Don't expect DSLR speeds for focus acquisition. There will still be some lag when you press the shutter and the time the camera takes the pic.

I think with that software, the initial focus is still takes a little time to acquire. Worst still if in low light.

If you don't like the bulk and still want protection, using your Note naked and with a slip case would be best.

From what I have seen, there's not many. There's the VX1 from PDair and the original leather one from Samsung (EFC-1E1LBEC)

I'm using Sandisk 64GB.

Stock without any mod or any program like Juice Defender running and I'm getting easily 1 full day on a full charge and with Wifi on the whole day. I'm not on 3G but I receive Yahoo, Gmail and Ebay updates constantly throughout the day with Wifi if that helps.

Did you tweak the screen brightness? I unchecked on the phone's auto brightness and set it on my own. The bar is way down as I don't need bright indoors. I think if using it outdoors under sun, the screen needs to be broghter of course.

Well to put it the other way around, the reason you don't see any difference when suing screen protector is because the LCD screen is damn excellent already.

I believe it will only scan for Wi-Fi continuously if you are on the "Wireless & Network" > "Wi-Fi Settings" page. At other times, it will only scan periodically. No idea on the interval because when I'm at the airport or places when I know there is Wi-Fi, I don't get the notification instantly. I will only get it 10 minutes later or when I access my phone. Of course if I go to the "Wireless & Network" > "Wi-Fi Settings" page, I will surely get to detect the Wi-Fi AP instantly.

Strange. Earlier on December 8th, I got an automated SMS from 62003 saying that my phone's warranty is from 05/12/2011 to 04/12/2013.

For the fun of it, I just sent an SMS to check and it turns out that the warranty is from 09/12/2011 to 04/12/2013. Hmmm... A few days also want to short change me meh?

What Wi-Fi router are you using? If there are a lot of Wi-Fi signals and other 2.4GHz signals in your neighbourhood on the same channel as you are using, then chances are the signal will be very crappy.

Off topic... How do you access the house address with IC number?

Nice write-up. You mentioned that the Micro USB to USB Adapter can be gotten for RM 50. Where did you get yours?

A little confused here... I thought that even though one did not get the flip case the first time around getting the Note, you can still claim it FOC later, correct? Why would one need to buy?

Anyway, I don't know if somebody mentioned this before but I find the original flip case has better recessed chamfer around the camera and flash holes which does not let the camera lens protrude out like the original backplate.

I did not get mine when I first bought it. Just last weekend, I claimed a free one from SEP after showing my receipt.

New tech is always more expensive. How much extra do you need to pay extra for a 64GB Ipon or Ipad? I paid RM 500 and now I have 64GB + 16GB = 80 GB.

Don't you think that if there was a problem with using the 64GB card, there would be Note users here complaining about it already?

LOL Better have two Notes like that. Yes, it's cheaper but is it practical to have two 32GB cards? I guess if you can already consider having two batteries, two cards should not be a problem.

I too got my OTG cable last weekend. Just could not wait and therefore paid a little more for original. Got 1 year warranty from Samsung some more...

Anyway, I'm thinking the same thing about using the Note for temporary pics storage. I bought a 64GB card. Expensive lah. With the OTG cable and a card reader, can offload pics to the Note. I have not tried external hardisk but I thought I read that it will work provided you hook up power to it.
