QUOTE(taxidoor @ Dec 19 2011, 02:25 PM) gratz on V5 using v9 rocket rom so far so good now So fast v9 already? I haven't even gotten around to V7! Added on December 19, 2011, 8:48 pmQUOTE(chokia @ Dec 19 2011, 08:46 PM) I think kinda pointless to root the phone or flash with custom rom as of now, the benefit kinda not really beneficial IMO. Im waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich custom rom. Battery life really terrible with WIFI. i left both 100% charged iphone and 100% charged sgn in the room with wifi connection whole night uncharged. Iphone4 still got 85% and SGN down to 25% in the morning I assume your background data sync, weather/tweeter/fb refresh all running? This post has been edited by Lazyboy: Dec 19 2011, 08:48 PM

QUOTE(benny888 @ Dec 19 2011, 08:23 PM) It is very and extremely unbelievable easy . I recommend you to flash Chainfire - you will get root and CWM installed same time. Whole process just take 5 mins. Make sure you download the right file matching your kernel . Than just connect phone to PC and run the "not-root.bat" file Before that have KIES installed on PC so that the phone USB drivers are installed on PC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784Benny, Do you see or notice if the Adroid OS battery consumption lowered in V9 rom compared to stock KK1 or previous rocket ROM?

QUOTE(benny888 @ Dec 19 2011, 08:58 PM) Just on v9 today only ; but previous versions battery life is definitely better than KK1. Because also due to the improved kernels ( has been using abyss ) plus setcpu settings I have done Anyway I never have issues with battery life. Overnite only drop most 5-7 % over a 7 hour period. Day use can last me 10-12 hours I see. I haven't taken the plunge on custom roms yet. Just rooted but finding it a tad challenging to get through the day now without reaching for a charger during the day. Thanks.

- Dial *#0*# on your dial pad - Test Vibration - If no vibration, you have a faulty part
Happened on my SGSII not long after I purchased from SEP. At first I thought it was custom rom issue but after trying different rom, realised it did not make a difference so i took it back to the SEP. They discovered a component burnt (probably overheat) and replaced it free of charge.
I suggest you do the same after testing and it doesn't vibrate.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 4 2012, 10:58 PM) If you have not install any , go for the latest V13 as is actually V12 plus his additional tweak zip files Yeah, I have been wanting to get around trying rocket rom since V7...updates are getting published too fast for me to get around to it and it's at V13 now. Just deciding whether to update to official KL3 via KIES or go with V13 as I will have a little bit of time messing with it the next 2 days or so. I have rooted however and have Ti and root running. No CWM as I also did not get around to flashing CF-Root Kernel with CWM. This post has been edited by Lazyboy: Jan 4 2012, 11:02 PM

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 4 2012, 11:05 PM) If you upgrade to the official KL3 you will lose root and CWM. You cannot root back and have CWM reinstall. few users already complaining about this The only option left for such users is to downgrade back to a rom using Odin on PC which zergrush n CWM can be installed eg KKA. Than use zergrush with CWM zimage to root and have CWM install back. Than download the official KL3 from XDA and use Mobile Odin to flash it together with Chainfire kernel ( in tar format) Thanks. I've read about earlier comments of issues rooting the official KL3 hence am tempted to just forgo official KL3 and go through what I would have done earlier when time permitted -> Download KK1 CF-Root Kernel with CWM -> Run rooted .bat file -> then Flash V12 via mobile odin.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 5 2012, 10:32 AM) Use Mobile Odin to update firmware ( in tar format) and replace the kernel file with CWM file ( extract it down one level to tar format) and flash. You will get the CWM restore bcak Benny, which CWM file you are referring to? Just wanted to double check.

Thanks Benny. Finally done. Went with KL3 and kept root. Maybe will try Rocket ROM some day if ICS doesn't come along anytime soon.
