its a good sub...

you need a good custom box for it. it will be a good start using the recommended box by the manufacturer.

and the amp, 2ch amp works great with it. monoblocks also works great with it. just make sure you get amps that has the same wattage output as the sub and set your gain properly. biggrin.gif

cheerios...

ok, will customize a box & meantime, look around for a good used amp. tqvm! Today saw a customized carpet thick bx selling for rm180, is it ok for such price?

Meantime, i saw a pair of Diamond 6.5 mid-bass in JE auto accessories in serdang which could compliment well with my Autocraft tweeter & crossover since my component mid-bass had condemn:( Very tempting to get it:)

while i will recommend you to get a custom build box... if the box off the shelves has the same internal volume as recommended by the manufacturer... why not.

hi Quazacolt, surprisingly it was tested & sound real solid thump beat which no sign of cracking anywhere & that's why I took the gamble of having it now...will go for the customized thick customized box as advised by craziechild!

Depending on your type of music listening, you could opt for ported box or sealed box. Sealed box means no hole and much better listening to slow and audiophile musics..

If you want blast bass, then ported box is the type you should go for.

well, since i am not much into blasting but very much listening to fm, light & easy plus some 70s & 80s ballad/sentimental hit songs. i'll just go for the normal enclosure box type. tks MikeX:)

As per spec, SPL 98db 1watt / 0.5m...

a) Sealed Enclosure: 1.4 cubic foot.

b) Ported enclosure 1 cubic foot-port 3"Dia. x 6.5"Length. (all specs. include basket and port displacement so there is no need to build the box larger to compensate).

Coz sealed box you want to compress the space for coil vibration while ported box need the hole to release the vibration. smile.gif
