root or unroot should be doesnt matter as long as you didnt delete the system files/apps and it is a stock rom.▐ ❤★Google Nexus S Official Thread V3★❤▐, http://www.google.com/phone/detail/nexus

same here. thats why i'm on oxygen 2.3.2 for now. stock rom are just not my type so i never try them on all of my 3 droid phones. i always wait for custom ones cuz you need wipe all, flash and enjoy. haha~~
its either oxygen 3.0 or devnull from adamG first cuz he's always fast. took 1 day at max if see the pattern when i was on Desire. not sure now, maybe he's busy. |

QUOTE(kongkkm @ Dec 17 2011, 10:32 PM) From what I read, for official upgrade to ICS, the steps won't be that simple right? actually, most of the major upgrade requires new bootloader and radio. This is Nexus S's first major upgrade, from 2.3/2.3.6/etc so its normal if you guys dont need to update radio and bootloader since its Gingerbread. For now, we just download the ROM, boot into recovery, wipe, flash and DONE. For ICS, the bootloader and radio needed to flash again, flash back to stock 2.3.6, install superuser, bla bla bla... I have experience Eclair to Froyo, Froyo to Gingerbread, and now Gingerbread to ICS, all requires both upgrades, or at least the radio to make some hardware features to work such as in ICS case here, for signal to work, and while i was on Desire, for camera HD video to work, and so on. if you have the OTA, all of that are done automatically actually(sometimes i think), but now since we are doing it manually, those are needed. |

QUOTE(xzilem @ Dec 18 2011, 11:18 AM) You can just go to APP setting and disable google search, the bar will be gone. Hide Google Search Bar ah yeah forgot that option~~ rarely go there.I can. QUOTE(wingwp @ Dec 18 2011, 11:44 AM) all will stay intact unless it is wiped.QUOTE(nothing_nth @ Dec 18 2011, 12:01 PM) OTA usually wont FC since it is official. Google wont do something that burden their user, especially the regular users who knows nothing about flashing/wiping/etc.but if there is FC on system files, maybe just need factory reset from settings, or if FC from app, reinstalling would help. wipe is actually needed when flashing custom rom only, since the devs have modified the frameworks and such, so different devs = must wipe! |

i'm on Brainmaster ICS. its great but i have a slight delay when opening the app drawer. otherwise its good as stock. but well its just for trying. i'll stick with it until a custom rom appears.
CM9 doesnt seem to interest me at the moment. just thinking bout Oxygen 3.0, 3.0, 3.0 ..... |

QUOTE(lgs @ Dec 19 2011, 03:37 PM) Matr1x 12.5 is based on the latest ICS source code, worth to try (I am still on Stock though) of course the stock 4.0.3 one. i never liked MIUI~~How's the performance? good? Are you using the [ROM][IML74K][i9020T][i9020A][i9023] Brainmaster's Stock ICS 4.0.3 or ◄ ▌ [17.Dec.11] [ROM] brainmaster's MIUI 1.12.16 | ICS which is not the latest 4.0.3 source code? So far, its good. faster than stock IMO on this BM's rom. using stock 1Ghz with smartassV2. |

QUOTE(kiwlm @ Nov 12 2012, 06:31 PM) Wah, 800 is a very high price for this 2 year old phone, tempting! i sold my gnex for 800. haha lucky you didnt trick that guy~ my friend bought nexus s second hand for 500 so 400-500 would be reasonable. if 800 better get gnexus la. Why not you look at a new Galaxy Nexus? Now they are going for like 1k only I think. |
