QUOTE(youze @ May 29 2012, 01:40 AM) Will you guys share your motivations in collecting the tanks? I actually prefer aircraft to plans, so I am quite happy that Allscript now has the Fighter Aircraft Series. Also love it that it is very skewed towards the 2nd world war.Personally, I want to know the history of tanks and how they evolve from one war to another. Generally I'm keen with anything that has got to do with wars, especially the World Wars. I enjoy watching war movies, such as Band of Brothers (can't wait to get my hands on the Sherman tank model!) and Saving Private Ryan to name a few. No doubt I picked it up from my dad. He's totally engrossed when watching one that if my mum calls out to him during the fighting scenes, she'll get no peep from him lol. Also, times spent playing numerous games since the days of Medal of Honor and Call of Duty (the World War series ok?) to Brothers in Arms and Full Spectrum Warrior...you name it...have taught me a thing or two about weapons and vehicles from that era. So with that being said, it's natural I'd fall for this kind of stuff. Plus I don't have any models/toys collection before and this certainly fits my taste. Very macho like to own. Also the details on these tanks are pretty solid for its price, I must say. What say you? But still... I'll continue to collect the tanks but will probably only collect those related to that time period. Not interested in "modern warfare" so to speak. |

QUOTE(blu3hamm3r @ May 29 2012, 02:10 PM) Just grab my challenger and few freebie from Allscript!!! Yeah! There is 2 different version of Issue 5 & 6! For all ur infor, the free trailer for those who subscipt tank collection is not available and they had replace the tank trailer with 2 freebie, one is "Steyr RSO 0/1 + 40 Anti -Tank Gun" and " Flakvierling Sd.Kfz 7/1 with Sd.Ah.51 trailer". How come u can get the freebies from Allscript? Are you subscribed or did you buy X number of copies at once? How many needed? |

Hi folks,
I just got back from Allscript and have something good to report For those of you who are still keen on the Challenger (UK Issue 5) There are still quite a few left. They opened a new box of Challengers and from what I can see, most of them are in pretty good condition Most of the cases have some abrasions though, but nothing a little bit of Brasso or Autosol Plastic Cleaner can't fix Helped pick up a Challenger for songcm as well, hope you enjoy it when it arrives dude |

QUOTE(romulus47plus1 @ Jun 3 2012, 02:13 PM) And I thought I was the only one... Same with me dude, I'm also not really into the Modern Tanks. WW2 is where the glory was Collected issue 1, 3 and 4, skipped 2 because I'm not a fan of modern tanks. But since I subscribed, I do have the modern tanks as well... but luckily more WW2 as compared to modern being released Added on June 4, 2012, 11:17 amFound the DeAgostini Back Issues purchase page. They are up to issue 90+ now and unfortunately they don't list out their tanks issue by issue. But if you click on the individual magazines the next page tells you what tank it comes with. Who free to compile? http://shop.deagostini.co.uk/filter-by/bac...nks-collection/ Some of them are not tanks anymore though, like issue 90 is the "Sd.Kfz. 10". QUOTE(Abrams @ Jun 4 2012, 11:41 AM) Great link dude, lots to look forward to and lots of money going bye bye...But it's quite sad that the folder only fits 15 issues. When I asked Allscript how much it would cost to get a new folder in the future they told me they will sell it for RM29.90... |

QUOTE(Nagahimaru @ Jun 6 2012, 12:15 PM) got my issue 5 Leopard from the kedai runcit.. weird.. this one got title card at the back.. why the previous one didnt? If you notice, sometimes even the packaging is different. Initially the card backs are in beige, but some are in black... maybe different manufacturer? The words on the card back also not always the same... |

QUOTE(mchw08 @ Jun 6 2012, 05:01 PM) oic... how did u go around it? do i just mentioned my name and show my i.c. ? would like to go this saturday. thanks. They actually track your name on a computer that lists all your subscriptions and all the issues that you have collected or they have sent out. If you are at their office the first thing they would ask you is your name. |
