Anyone know with RM150/month premium, what is the maximum protection a baby can get ? Inclusive of medical card, critical illness for kid, education, life + investment link ?
*
It depends how you would want the cover to be but for a child policy I would concentrate more on medical rather than giving the baby high life/CI. Reason being babies do not have responsibilities and I am sure no sane parents want to earn from our own flesh and blood.

Please for Rm150, lets not even think of it as education if you want max cover for medical/life insurance as insurance charges on these will eat up on the cash values. If you look at the projections for 20 years, i am sure you would agree that having Rm20k-Rm25k 20 years later would be tough even for a local degree.

Of course 20 years later you would be able to withdraw some cash values from the policy but my point is that do not only rely on this for the education. You need to find out where and how much the education needs versus what you have save.

For education purpose you may need to put in more towards a saver (where 95% of the premium will be used to generate cash values). Also there are other alternatives investments other than insurance.

If you need a quote, please Pm to me the following info.

1. Date of birth (yourself and baby)
2. Gender (yourself and baby)
3. Your occupation
4. Your smoking status
5. Your email address for me to email the quotes.

How much for a lowest education plan cost per month for a baby now at months? At what age they can withdraw for their education purposes in their future? Usually how much they will get based on the lowest plan.

Kasumie, this may sound very odd coming from an insurance guy, but if you are purely looking at the returns based on what you had invested, then you better put that hard earn money elsewhere. If you are looking for protection mainly medical card for baby, then yes, talk to Insurance guy.

It is sad to see insurance being sold as an investment.

When it comes to insurance mainly medical card, do note that since 2006 the following are not covered.

Take home drugs, long term medication and consultation charges. This applies to industry wide. This is why if you have an older medical card that covers these, do not cancel the plan even if your spouse becomes an insurance agent with another insurance company.

Hence there may be times that you are required to pay for the take home drugs when the private hospital gives you medication for precautionary measures. In short, do note that not everything will be covered in your medical card.

For a list of exclusions do refer to the policy document.

Prudential is offering pre-natal 'PruMyChild' Plan. The first insurance plan in Malaysia that covers your child even before they are born. It has a cashless Medical Card (for the child), covers selected congenital illnesses and certain pregnancy complications. This is because once a child is diagnosed with any congenital conditions or born prematurely, insurers will decline issuing medical card or even any form of insurance- so PruMyChild actually covers these risks if you were to purchase it anytime within 18-35 weeks of pregnancy.

It's better to buy during pregnancy stage because as parents, surely we will buy medical insurance for our kids sooner or later.

And yes, it comes with savings too (PruMyChild is an investment-linked plan). Further terms and conditions are contained in the full quotation and policy, it's the duty of your agent to explain it before signing and during the delivery of policy, in person.

Like Roy above, I have sold many policies of PMC and I am glad this plan really helped some of my clients.

You may contact me by email or call me at 018-397 8421 for further details.

Congrats on being a parent very soon!

I am not sure of hong leong's. As far as I know of, Prudential is the only company offering this plan.

The other plans are for the ladies, not for infant. Do not be mislead.

In prudential, we call it PruLady, covers pregnancy complications and the baby. But PruMyChild is a different plan, this plan is for expecting mothers from 18 weeks onwards to buy for the baby in the womb, once born, the same plan becomes an education/ medical insurance plan. No need to buy a new ins plan.

Call up any large private hospitals and generally ask this question, say this:

" I have 2 med cards. Prudential and Hong Leong. Which med card do you think is best for me to use if I need to be admitted? Any preference? Any special discount if I use Prudential card?" You will find your answer here.

Buy from the pioneer. Prudential is the first to offer medical card more than 15 years ago, then ladies plan (PruLady), and now PruMyChild launched abt 3-4 years back.

Regards,
Chris

Dear Wai,

All insurance companies will decline medical insurance for prematurely born l, for the first 2-3 years depending. After the 2nd-3rd year, try re-applying again. Strict underwriting is required on this type of cases, as you my know babies born prematurely may be severely underweight, etc etc. But how premature is premature? if you have the attending OG Dr's report etc on the condition of the baby may help your application.

Which companies have you tried?, did your agent fill in correctly the number of weeks born in the application form supported by any reports from your Dr? Your daughter born 32 weeks- may still be considered actually. nod.gif I had similar case years ago and thankfully it was ok after getting some reports etc from Dr.

This is the reason why PruMyChild insurance designed for mother's to be to buy for their baby anytime between 18-32 weeks of pregnancy.

Regards.

Lemon Girl,

Are you sure? Pregnant mother can buy for the baby?

Or are you referring to your ladies plan, buy before pregnancy and for herself. Not for the baby. When the baby is born, still need to buy a new medical insurance plan subject to new underwriting.

I checked through your HLA website and there is nothing abt this plan?

I've try GEL and my baby was born on 32 weeks and weight only 1.5kg at that time. They reject me because my baby is underweight. I dont have any supporting document from OG doctor to clarify that my current baby is healthy. Maybe i try to get the supporting document and reapply again.

Good, try getting the report from the pediatrician/ OG and current health, weight etc. After all your daughter is now 1 year old and surely bubbly, sweet and pretty smile.gif . Current weight is also important as we insurers have a BMI table.

Didn't the company or agent ask for further details above for underwriting assessment..

I would be happy to assist too should you decide to try with us.

Good lucks.
