QUOTE(Intimidated @ Dec 11 2007, 03:32 AM) New to this game, but I think I'll just stick with painting, collecting, and photo shooting. Playing the game takes too much time xD hey that's quite a nice range of figures you got in your collection, would look better if they are based. click here to view my photo gallery |

yeh i prefer NMM myself, but I'm still practicing it. as for this model, I followed the masterclass article that was on White Dwarf and hence the free hand and metallics

well what you can do, which i have been testing recently is take a photo of the model while its under the light (best done with no paint on the model whatsoever). this will allow you to see how light is reflected from real metallics
personally i find metallic colors to look better as they can provide much more contract, but on photos NMM definitely looks more better and clean. This post has been edited by lickar: Jan 2 2008, 01:11 PM |

I guess its all pretty even depending on how many points you want your starter army to be. The amount you spend is roughly the same with exception to necrons, if you're fielding an army of warriors. the only problem with guard or other low pts/model armies is the amount of painting time. Otherwise its all good.
