Just sharing from experience:I got my Vita in June this year. Subscribed to US PS+ for usd50. Downloaded for free Uncharted Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, and Gravity Rush. Got my "modal" back already. "Gave" free PS3 version of Battlefield 3, Xcom and Hitman Absolution to my bro who has a PS3. Got several other free full game trials which i didn't download coz streamyx is way too slow.
Also went travelling for about 2 weeks recently, finished half of Persona 4 Golden, was able to upload (through phone 3G) to backup my Vita saves to the 1GB free cloud storage on the go. No fear of losing my saves even if i misplace my Vita. Recently got some more new free games for PS+ -> Kingdoms of Amalur, ICO HD for PS3, GTA and Rayman Origins for Vita. The PS+ is also useable on PS4.
So, will i renew my PS+ subscription next year? Definitely.
