Good to hear u supporting Asia PSN. I would challenge US got more content coz now Asia's content is just as good and almost every region will have similar content now just a matter of timing (eg rayman origins was free on Asia PS+ first but now free on US PS+ while Hitman absolution was free on Euro PS+ but then later free on Asia PS+). One benefit Asia's PS+ will have is that they get Japan PS vita games for free (just check out this month's and u'll know) including games like Ragnarok Odyssey!

Downside of using US PSN account, you can easily compare with Malaysia trophy hunters / gamers. But only if u interested in that sort of thing

I'm using Umobile 2 GB (RM 40 every month). Not prepaid but so far so good. Mainly use it for near and downloading stuff. Problem with prepaid always have to remember to top up etc.

Stores not selling wifi only Vitas? Thats a surprise. All the LYN major sellers got (and even if its 3G version its priced the same now). As someone mentioned its RM 21 per month for 2-3 free new games. A new single game for Vita costs at least RM 100 and even if discounted it would be around RM 50-60 (or maybe RM 30 if from US) so its plenty worth now. Of course you need to keep renewing if you keep it every month. I paid RM 125 per year and already I'm halfway / finishing PS Vita games like Shinobido 2, Virtua Tennis 5, Star Strike Delta, Uncharted Golden Abyss, etc etc thats at least double if I had bought new / used ones online

Yes you can. I played with R3 Chinese b4. In fact I also download R3 items in Chinese before so I don't know what it is until I go into the game and see the item I picked up from Near.

If wifi speed is good it should be faster. I use a 3G Vita and when I in hotspot or at home with my fibre I switch to Wifi only. Also in presence of Wifi, Near and all apps will use Wifi instead of 3G though if slow it will revert back automatically.

Skype, Foursquare, Facebook, Surfing, Messaging (to frends on PSN), checking & updating trophies, Downloading game items via Near, and some other stuff all without the need to connect to Wifi.

No can't use as actual phone, though I do receive SMS from Umobile telling me my bill is near inside my Vita *LOL*

Unfortunately dont have those apps on PS Vita at the moment. Of course if you wanna use Custom Firmware you can try google it.

Only facebook chat & Skype as far as I can tell. And no I dont think can use to send text messages to other phones (maybe got workaround but never used for it). Use a normal phone lah bro. Why so troublesome wanna use PS Vita to text messages

LOL shades of Nokia N-gage. But no you still need to carry phone. Thats why I use Umobile 2 GB. I think later will downgrade to the newer Maxis 1 GB

I download games from US, MY, EU etc no difference in speed. Am using Maxis Fibre btw. 1.7 GB for me takes about 10-15 mins with 10 MBps line.

Why compulsory use PS Plus US? It is not compulsory but yeah if you want free games u can subscribe. Yes you can register for US and still play with MY PSN. Only thing you can't play is with your Vita as its limited to 1 account.

Yes all digital game price is in MYR. To a certain extent US PSN has better deals and better offers but MY PSN has improved a lot vs when it started out. There are still price gems vs US PSN for some Vita games (just a couple of months back, games like Little Deviants, Resistance Burning Skies, Motorstorm RC are all cheaper than the US PSN as well as card games). Now they also have Dragon's Crown at RM 81 which is RM 50 cheaper than the card game and about RM 20 vs US PSN. When Killzone Mercenary was launched, the price is also the same (or slightly cheaper than US) though US PSN did have an offer for USD 9 for KZ Mercenary recently.

Just in case you think I'm pushing PSN MY, do know that I'm a PS+ member for US, UK & MY, and I'm a dead bargain hunter when it comes to online purchases so I would compare easily across the regions. That said you can't go wrong with subscribing either one so if you think you want to set your account to US is ok. I'm advocating more on MY coz I think with more support shown here, they will improve further. Plus they will have one advantage US & UK will not have which is access to Japanese games (free or discounted) but only if you're into it of course.

Why? Coz I cant find an R3 english version, all R3 are Jap with Chin / Korea subtitle. I found english but those are R1 or R2. I'm starting to see a worrying trend.

Can but he need to set up your account in the other vita to access the games you bought. So he'll be playing on your account. No issue if mainly offline stuff.

Only con is just that using ur PSN account instead of his own loh. If he wants his own trophies then need to buy separately.

Not so sure but if you do it in ad-hoc mode it can be possible.
