I last installed my Head Unit around 7 years ago, Sony brand.
Recently the CD feeder kaput, cannot feed in CD anymore... Even when I push in also cannot... Can only reject.

So now I'm thinking maybe time to replace the Head Unit.

Any recommendations?
Not looking for expensive one (not an audiophile), just need a basic unit that can read from DVD and also USB.

Not sure of the price nowadays, but I think I can avoid Alpine (beyond budget) hehe.

branded dvd monitors start around 1800 for clarion, sony, panasonic and maybe older kenwood, pioneer and jvc models. latest models would be around 2300-2800. alpine one nowadays 2800 only.

Actually I just need to read mp3 from the DVD, not for video purposes.

What's the price for a normal head unit for this purpose?

then u can go for theose dvd player without screen...it should cost u below 900 for entry level 1.
