Scientifically not very true, Aluminium is a kind of metal in which according to the periodic table, it is very fast oxidize and leave a layer of alu oxide on its top coat, this layer will keep the aluminium in shinny surface Try cleaning with a mixture of vinegar + water, tell me how it works out
and that is why you will never see aluminium rusted, this is what I learnt during materials engineering
