how is the camera control, lock-on targeting feature with just the normal 3DS control scheme holding up so far?

will have to see if the clutter on top screen is really going to affect me as much. sounds like the 1st layout is more optimized for control (without the circle pad pro at least)
thanks for the info QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Dec 12 2011, 03:43 PM) There are 2 options for screen display, one is having the features you mentioned with items, mixing items, lock-on on the bottom screen, the other is map, health bar and item screen at the bottom but full hunting screen on top with nothing disturbing you on top. I opt for the latter as the other stuffs on top screen really cramped and affect your hunting on such low res screen on top. Control wise it's quite bad, without the slide pad at least. I'm used to PSP control where changing angle on upper d-pad, moving on bottom analog stick. I have quickly ordered a slide pad to compensate this while trying to adapt to the new control lay out on 3DS. |

stumbled upon this video which also covers the new control mechanics ... seems like the touch screen area is quite customizable.

if thru EMS, then u shld factor in at least 1 day extra bcos these few weeks PosLaju always delay due to "missed delivery" reason.
i think it basically means high volume of items to distribute per day so sometimes can't make it in the rounds within same day ... QUOTE(juwels @ Dec 14 2011, 11:46 AM) |

if you have time and don't mind, would be great to hear in what way is it "watered down" from MH Tri ... in your opinion of course.
QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Dec 14 2011, 12:13 PM) Added on December 14, 2011, 12:18 pmBack to MH3G, the more I play the less interesting it is, it's a watered down port from Tri and P3rd so far. Add that to the terrible 3DS control I would say this is not a very interesting MH, although hundreds of hours will still be spent on it. Hope the new bosses can make things more interesting later on. |

dunno about others but i believe the default touchscreen controls (with a little user customization if necessary) should be given a chance or at least a playtest. Capcom has done well in supporting Nintendo platform in recent times. can see they at least put in effort to compliment what the game is running on with decent (and sometimes great) result.
i honestly couldn't get into the PSP iterations too bcos of the controls as well ... could never get used to it. might also just be the old brain which doesn't want to adapt ... *deja vu comment* even the Wii iteration which got a lot of pre-game and post-game launch criticism for having the wiimote+nunchuk scheme ... i think i did fine with it. swimming or otherwise ... perhaps just not as intuitive for some particular weapon types ... QUOTE(juwels @ Dec 15 2011, 10:44 AM) tq for review. really hoping that the slidepad will compensate for the controls. i think it will make a huge difference as they sculpted the pad into something more ergonomic. This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 15 2011, 02:33 PManyway, i disagree with one part of your review and i took the liberty to correct it for you |

yea, as i was implying ... sometimes it's just us ... not used or don't have that knack for certain control type/design.
just urging the other ppl to give it a chance ... instead of just foregoing it altogether QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Dec 15 2011, 03:32 PM) I have tried the touchscreen control but it couldn't solve the issue, may be that's because I'm never good in touch screen to begin with rather the touch control problem. yes, agreed and understood. precisely what i was implying about using the touch screen controls and being good at it.
QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Dec 15 2011, 03:44 PM) I do understand some might be able to handle the 3DS better than I do, however I'm just voicing out my problem with the controls based on my own experience. If clawing on the PSP is difficult, then most would find having no finger before the thumb even more difficult unless you are using the touch screen control and actually good at it. taken from the MH Wikia site,
Blast / 爆破 ------------- The Blast Element, a new element for Weapons in Monster Hunter 3 G. When hitting a monster with a Blast element weapon, the attack impact will light up with three different colors, starting from green to yellow to red. When it reaches red and a few more hits are made, the next hit will cause an explosion, dealing blast damage on the target monster. QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Dec 22 2011, 10:00 AM) Added on December 22, 2011, 10:30 amAnyone noticed there's a new weapon "element"? I'm not sure what it is exactly but it's from the new mascot monster. Added on December 22, 2011, 1:52 pmconfirmed, this one is PRO ! QUOTE(juwels @ Dec 22 2011, 11:13 AM) This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 22 2011, 01:52 PM |

if you are looking for it in Flooded Forest (especially during low rank) ... i find that Area 10 (top of map) seems to have better chance to get some bugs which are suppose to be rarer that point of the game. usually you'd linger more around area 2 and 7 ... bcos too lazy to go further "just to hunt some bugs", right ?
of course, like ZaroTaro recommends ... you'd probably more easily get it during high rank missions. good luck. QUOTE(SWATwolf @ Feb 17 2012, 07:35 PM) This post has been edited by yangkuo: Feb 19 2012, 11:20 AM |

on the other hand, i'm really short of luck in terms of the "Heavenly Scale" drop ...
getting Rubies, Juwels a lot ... but no such scale in sight so far. |
