Hi Everyone,

After buying a 32inch TV to use for my desktop PC, i noticed that all my videos are not as sharp as it was on my laptop(14inch monitor). Obviously its due to the resolution of the video to the Resolution of the screen, hence video becomes less sharp and crisp.

Blue-Ray videos with higher Resolution looks great, but what about all my old collection, is there no hope for them? is there a codec out there that can improve, or can i change something in the settings?

Currently I am using GOM Player with K-lite Codec Pack.

It's all about display aspect ration(DAR). Old monitor usually have 4:3 aspect ratio and modern monitor now coming with 16:9 aspect ratio.

The way to look sharp as the older monitor is to resize the new monitor to 4:3 ratio..ex:1024x768 (4:3)

There is nothing that can fix it. It's the same principle as taking a small picture, and stretching it to make bigger. You WILL have a lot of pixelation. Unless you can find an original source for your old file that has a large resolution, there is nothing much that you can do

The best you could try is with madvr and mpc-hc.With proper setup,it can make it a bit better, but not better than your blu-ray collection.

Hey Guys,

So i finally found a solution to my own problem. Let me say I am very impressed with the result, i can easily say 70% improvement!!

So I uninstalled K-lite, and went ahead with CCCP + CoreAVC, and still using GOM player.

I wish i can go back to show you a before and after result, but belive me it was worth all the trouble.

I will go ahead with a few tweaks here and there, just to push the results a bit higher....
