george town really bad in traffic jam, those traffic light a lot a lot, my hotel near gurney , my car never go over 60km/h in tat area, some more thursday friday only. saturday more jam. penang people very geng , especially auntie will never let you go into their lane, when u wanna switch lane i suggest u dont tap signal , u tap signal they press more accelerate pedal. lolz
Yeap very true....if u wan to switch lane, do not use signal, otherwise ppl lagi dont want to give space to you, unless your car number plate is a non-pg car.
So....as a pg-naturalized driver...this is what i do... ONLY TO BE USED IN PENANG ISLAND....

1. Check if next lane got car with side mirror. if you can still see the car in ur side mirror, means u got space to change lane.
2. Stuff ur nose into 1/4 of the lane first. At this stage, the car behind might horn or flash high beam at u. but if ur maintaining same speed and did not press brake, u'll be fine. just do NOT slow down.
3. Put signal. This is to prevent the case where the car behind do crash into u, u can argue that u already put signal and scold the fella 99.
4. After you enter 3/4 of the lane, accelerate even more to put more distance between the u and the car behind. this is to prevent the aftermath of step 3 from happening.
Weird but true

You have to do every single thing opposite from what you learn in JPJ.
And the steps above does not apply if the vehicle next lane is a motorbike. they wont slow down or give way one. in fact they might purpose go nearer to you and let u hit them then they start their oscar-award winning acting skills

.
in fact, might be safer for u to drive "recklessly" in penang haha....
Sunday is no car day ka? I also dunno.....i still drive anyway...dont care...expect me to walk from bayan lepas to georgetown meh
