a sad story

http://news.yahoo.com/remains-274-us-troop...-081234306.html

The US Air Force dumped the cremated, partial remains of at least 274 troops in a landfill before halting the secretive practice in 2008, the Washington Post reported Thursday.
The procedure was never formally authorized or disclosed to senior Pentagon officials, who conducted a review of the cremation policies of Dover Air Base -- the main point of entry for US war dead -- in 2008, the Post said.
Nor was the dumping ever disclosed to the families of the fallen troops, who had authorized the military to dispose of the remains in a respectful and dignified manner, the Post said, citing Air Force officials.
The newspaper quoted officials as saying that a precise count of the remains disposed of at a Virginia landfill would require searching through the records of 6,300 troops whose remains have passed through Dover since 2001.

hmm..should have let the families know first before they did anything

in a few cases, after an IED attack body parts are not found and sometimes some body parts are so messed up they had to amputate so they could have a open casket funeral

i was tasked to help clean an US army humvee that was hit by a 200kg IED.still gives me chills
*
i saw the amputation of one US serviceman in Afghan.surreal

kudos to you mate,at least you got the guts to do such thing

for now we gota satisfied with consumer grade camera(the one like on cctv).but i heard we got collaboration with south korea rite? so i'm hoping for some samsung military camera

sure, because it's an evolutionary process.with years of studying and the term "net centric warfare" have also changed due time

Malaysian Armed Forces have been through 3 evolution.from counter-insurgency based army in pre 1989,transition era of the nineties into primarily conventional forces in the turn of the millennia

we have been improving our communication up to the company level(with the introduction to new radio and limited introduction to malaysian-made sapura HF radio),stationary and self propelled radar(ranging from counter battery radar, surface radar to aerial detection radar),strategic C4I C&C and integrated joint triservice operation.

if there is one thing good of having a modest size army,is that such improvement can be introduced and standardized quickly(unlike armed force like PLA who even now struggled to standardize their assault rifle ammunition)

those AWACS thingy are for the fourth stage of MAF modernization;the expansion of the force and make the MAF to be truly high-tech army that can survive(and possibly) win a limited warfare with regional adversary

but Rafale go beyond where no plane ever go,
such deep into the country disabling sam radar and battery!
*
SEAD.but Typhoon tranche 2 and 3 can do that too

if we wanted a true maritime strike aircraft,i'f rather go for F/A-18F.then again all three aircraft can do maritime well

about Rafale>Typhoon, unless we saw 100 yrs war Mk 2,i gonna hold my ponies about it.

if Dassault could give us unlimited access to Rafale(but i think they will.many Mirage F1/Mirage 2000 users mod their aircraft to go as far as launching chinese made AAM) and unlimited access to the armament.then i also go for it

there are many alternatives for Israeli avionics and armament system.France,Italy and South Africa are good starters.even South Korea nowadays

perhaps there are another subclass of G-4; the 4+++ generation(or 4.75)

this is existing 4th gen aircraft that implements the aspects of 5th gen aircraft(stealth,TVC,AESA radar, etc)

exp like F-15SE,Typhoon Tranche 3, and the proposed Su-30MKI mk3
