Waktu itu beliau bersama anggota-anggota polis yang lain berlindung di sebalik kereta, tembok dan parit. Ketika melihat Tun Hanif Omar keluar daripada perlindungan untuk mendekati sasaran, Encik Abdul Ghani tidak melepaskan peluang, muncul dengan kameranya, terlupa akan keselamatan dirinya sendiri yang terdedah kepada kemungkinan sasaran tembakan. Menyingkap kembali peristiwa yang berlaku, Encik Abdul Ghani menyatakan bahawa situasi pada ketika itu amat cemas dan membimbangkan, namun tumpuan beliau hanya kepada pergerakan polis, terutama Ketua Polis Negara. Encik Abdul Ghani telah menunggu sejak beberapa jam sambil berlindung di dalam longkang, semak dan tembok bersama-sama anggota Unit Tindak Khas (UTK) PDRM untuk mendapatkan ‘shot’ terbaik dengan hanya bersenjatakan sebuah kamera biasa. Beliau bersyukur kepada tuhan kerana segala-galanya berjalan dengan selamat.
