Pemangku Ketua Polis Daerah Selama, Asisten Superintendan Abd Ghani Zainun berkata, mangsa ditemui terdampar di kawasan paya di sebuah kebun getah kira-kira 0.5 kilometer dari lokasi pusat menyelamat di Ladang Holyroad Rhona.

Menurutnya, ketika kejadian, payung terjun yang digunakan mangsa dipercayai gagal berfungsi.

“Keadaan itu menyebabkan alat berkenaan terbelit di bahagian badan mangsa, bagaimanapun kita masih menunggu laporan bedah siasat bagi mengetahui punca sebenar kematian,” katanya.

Menurutnya, kehilangan mangsa hanya disedari setelah 23 anggota lain selesai melapor diri kepada Pegawai Latihan Khusus Ketua Ronda sebaik selesai membuat terjunan.

that y I'm asking do we really need 6x6 in the 1st place. not much differ also.
perhaps slightly lighter. hmm.gif

PAC would benefit from something say a weasel but an APC will just slow down the guys

an APC will not 'ngam' with the way PAC operates especially a big ass target like a 6x6 bangbus with a 25mm bushmaster

Indonesia, German firm sign agreement on tanks sale

08.11.2012
By our dpa-correspondent and  Europe Online

Jakarta (dpa) - Indonesia and German defence company Rheinmetall on Thursday signed an agreement that paves the way for the purchase of 150 tanks from Germany by the Asian nation.

"The memorandum of understanding is related to transfer of technology and maintenance," said Ediwan Prabowo, head of the defence facilities agency at the Defence Ministry.

Prabowo said he hoped the contract for the purchase of 100 Leopard main battle tanks and 50 lighter Marder tanks would be signed this month.

Prabowo told dpa on Wednesday that he hoped to sign both the memorandum of understanding and the contract on Saturday, after a defence exhibition in Jakarta in which Rheinmetall was among the companies from 40 countries participating. dpa apa npr Author: Ahmad Pathoni

ST Kinetics’ Terrex Selected By The U.S. Marine Corps For The Demonstration Phase Of The Marine Personnel Carrier Programme

Singapore, 6 November 2012 – ST Kinetics’ TERREX, an advanced generation all-terrain 8x8 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) has been accepted by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for the demonstration and studies phase of the Marine Personnel Carrier (MPC) programme as part of a consortium led by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a global Fortune 500 scientific, engineering and technology company based in Virginia, USA. The SAIC team will be supplying a customised version of the TERREX and basic hulls to be put through a 12-month period of performance trials and testing that includes the areas of mobility, swimming capability, troop-carrying capacity and survivability.

“The selection of the TERREX for the demonstration and testing phase of the USMC MPC programme along with three other 8x8 vehicles from established defence industry players is a firm recognition that the TERREX has come into its own in the highly competitive APC space. We are very glad to be part of the SAIC team to offer the TERREX as an effective and affordable solution for the MPC programme.” ~ Patrick CHOY, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, ST Kinetics

The TERREX 8x8 APC meets the demands of the warfighter for superior mobility and high survivability. It is designed to allow technology insertions such as a battlefield management system, and data and communications systems for full integration into the modern networked battlefield. With its integrated all-round camera system, the TERREX provides its crew excellent situational awareness even during closed-hatch operations under demanding conditions.

Nexter Presents A CAESAR with the Indonesian Army's Livery at the INDODEFENCE Exhibition

(Source: Nexter; issued November 7, 2012)

Nexter Systems has a long history as a partner of the Indonesian Armed Forces, and is particularly proud to have participated in modernisation of TNI (Tentara Nasional Indonesia) in preparation for the upcoming commissioning of two artillery regiments based on the CAESAR system, with local cooperation.

The CAESAR is a uniquely innovative technical solution combining tactical mobility and fire power. Its 155mm/52 calibre artillery offers precise longer range fire support and its wheeled chassis makes air transport possible, particularly in a C-130, while limiting its cost of ownership.

The CAESAR system is now in service in three countries. It is used by the French army in Afghanistan to provide fire support, and it has demonstrated its operational capabilities and is now Combat Proven. France has used it within the United Nations in Lebanon, and it is also in service in a Middle East country and forms part of the Royal Thai Army's artillery.

This new success in Indonesia demonstrates that the performances of CAESAR® satisfy the most demanding requirements from the field in the South-East Asian region.

During INDODEFENCE, Nexter Systems has his booth on the French Pavilion, and the CAESAR is exhibited on the static of the Indonesian MoD.

highly unlikely.Should have been in the news.A death is hard to cover up

being in TLDM doesn't make him know everything and these type of rumours spread like an STD during RIMPAC

The guy did mention this becomes hush-hush, low profile stuff. Also, Some personnel he mentioned perished to nature. MIA after a big wave or so. If TDM personnel sure will break into the news, would TLDM be the same?
