it takes time man. just cover the cage with a piece of cloth and let them be for a day or two. let them get to know their own house first biggrin.gif

Hi there, I've read through the information in the first few post but couldn't find any info on this - do female sugar gliders require being spayed? I'm interested in getting one, but I'm currently at the research-stage so am hoping to learn as much as possible. :)

Normally people just neuter the male, cause it'll not only prevent babies but it'll also reduce the smell.

If I'm not mistaken, unlike dogs & cats, gliders don't simply mate with each other. They only mate with partners that they've bonded with.

Thanks. =)

Just another question, how long do you guys wait before getting a second glider friend for your single ones? I'm thinking of waiting perhaps a year or two, but I worry it might be too long.

It depends on you, if you spend lotsa time with them, you can wait longer. Or else, maybe get the 2nd one half a year later?

so tepuk dada tanya selera hehe
diharap korang toling bg feedback kat perhilitan supaya dieorg tahu keadaan sebenar. thx
sory english aku tak terer..

i agree with onezkatana.most of quality SG in the market produce by home breeder which really care about their reputation.while the big company which breed on a big scale will just fill the demand of SG at the pet shop.they don't f***ing care about their reputation or what, since their duty to only deliver the joey to the pet shop.i don't keep SG,i never breed them, but i disagree when they want license and fee for SG.I know its hard to have licensed animal under my care.sometimes need to take cuti to go and renew..when they give birth,u need to declare..But with new act, maybe only can breed for commercial purpose.mean u cannot breed unless u have company, with permit few hundred ringgit per year.so BETTER ACT NOW!!

I dont think there should be a fee for each glider. Maybe with a rule of not more than a certain number of breeding pairs, rules concerning more on the living conditions, diet and care rather than just a fee per glider.

Fee per glider is too much hassle and it's kinda pointless cuz even if someone were to inspect a commercial breeder's breeding facility they wont be able to tell if its the same glider they registered or not unless it's obvious like mosaic, leus etc. If rules are enforced on the diet, living conditions, care and such, it becomes too costly for mass breeders to mass breed like before.

A yearly license with rules like that would be better, unless someone else has a better suggestion. I'm kinda outdated with happenings in KL now, so forgive me(but please do tell) if my info is off.

Actually for me,i will give full support if they make a rules for SG welfare by giving the guidelines how big the cages, living condition etc.but they do this kind of thing because the want to control the ownership of SG among the people.they dont want SG become a normal pet in Malaysia. What u said is true, they wont be able to tell if its the same glider they registered or not,and thats what happen to my blood python right now.they want me to come this saturday to put microchip.i bet if they can make SG as one of the licensed animal, they can enforce a law for microchip also..if we didn't stop it now,we will suffer in the future.

that is f***ing true.i still remember when we go to those pet shop at brickfield and petaling street, they have a lot of WC pair for breeding, and they do like what you said. and i think they are not even touch those WC,so those animal can breed without any interference.

any chance that the mum is more aggresive when she is preggers?

she tried to bite me when she crabs in her pouch...which she seldom crabs let alone bite...and i can see a slit on her pouch...to be frank i never knew where her pouch was till now...i'm excited...but i worry i'm just false positive...any chance???

I recently brought my suggie Kenzo and Mayumi to UPM for deworming.
The doctor gave them syrup deworming.
You can also visit Dr. Jenny who is based in PJ if I am not mistaken.
