QUOTE(vicell @ Dec 13 2012, 03:01 AM) Hey everyone, I got a pair of gliders and they have baby OOP for 16 days already, I want to play with their baby so that the baby is familiar with me and not afraid of human. When they leave the baby alone, I will try to get the baby out for have a touch with it, however when the parents saw my hand near to their baby they will rush to the baby like protecting it and not allow me to touch it and they also become so fierce to me TT. Last time they are so sweet to me. But if I dont touch their baby now they still sweet to me as usual. Is there any tips or ways that I could play with the baby for maybe a 3 -5 mins a days for letting it familiar with me ? **BTW : It's their 1st litter If your glider seems protective of their joeys, pls do not disturb them. when u have gained enough, trust, they will let u play with them. Don't worry about that.

QUOTE(vicell @ Jan 22 2013, 01:09 AM) hey guys, my pair of gliders have their baby child that going to fully weaned in 2 weeks' time, the baby is a male, so i wanna ask if i want the baby to live with the parents after fully weaned, do i required to neuter the baby as i scare when the baby reach it's mature time it will interest to his mom @@ Yes u do, but usually the father will be alpha male so the joey won't get to mate with the mom but for precaution, it's better to neuter him

QUOTE(yumeeeyy @ Feb 12 2013, 01:35 AM) HEEEELPPPPPPPP I adopted a male glider few weeks ago, and I've been putting him next to my female glider's cage ever since, swapping their sleeping cloth, cages, and bonding pouches every 2 days. They're still fighting. But they don't roll in a ball and fight, either one of them will crab and try to jump or they run away in opposite direction. Sometimes at night I hear barkings too..... So. What do I do. It's like I can't get them to face each other to intro too The male being hostile or the female being hostile? As long as they dont fight n roll into a ball its still ok.

QUOTE(yumeeeyy @ Feb 15 2013, 12:51 AM) They take turns being hostile and luckily they don't roll into a ball and fight. A lot of crabbing and lifting the front hand up. No scratching or anything though. Just crab and run away. I see, they r just afraid of each other. Give them more time. let them play at neutral grounds

QUOTE(ahLiaNG90 @ Apr 12 2013, 12:47 PM) Hi sifus. I have a quick question here. Im thinking of getting a female sg or maybe a pair of female sg. The concern here is i also have a dog at home. It is a female 4 years old lazy fat but cute and pretty beagle. Some said do not recommend me to get sg but some said it doesnt matter as i will have a different cage for sg. I like sg a lot and plan to keep them since 2 or 3 years ago but i dont have the opportunity back then. But now the chance is here. What do u guys think? My dogs can play with my gliders. BUT! dun do this immediately. They need introduction n slowly get used to each other. Some just don't get along. To avoid any unwanted incident, it's best not to play with them together. a single bite from u dog will definitely kill the glider. To the dogs, the glider running here n there is a prey.

QUOTE(ahLiaNG90 @ Apr 13 2013, 01:16 PM) So as long as i dont put them together it will be fine? For now i think my dog wont attack the glider if i get one. She is a little bit too scare of everything. Too timid. But of coz wont let them get along at first. Im still considering tho. If i plan to get one do you have any nice suggestion on who should i approach? I do not wan go buy from pet store tho. I prefer home breeders. Yeap, dun mix them will be ok. Check with Crazymouse, Kelvin LYN got some homebreeders too. Just go meet up and take a look at their gliders.

QUOTE(ahLiaNG90 @ Apr 13 2013, 03:26 PM) Ok sure. How about you? Do u breed gliders? Used to. But i've since moved to Singapore for work, so i'm unable to keep them anymore. I've given my beloved gliders to ppl i trust and they are in good hands.

QUOTE(bsb85my @ Apr 22 2013, 04:29 AM) Last week my sister her friend found a male Joey in a dustbin at my condo's lobby, and she brought it back home. Of course, he was afraid of the new environment and meeting new people (me and my sis). In the beginning, we have no idea how to take care of it. So, I search info about Joey and now it seems better for me to engage him. I've fed him apple, watermelon, orange, cooked bird egg with honey, and Pro Optimum SG Diet. I've spent about 1-2 hours everyday to take it out in my bathroom (glider proofed of course) and "socialize" with it. I also gave him finger treat with honey and he loves it very much. Yesterday, it started to crawled on my back and I'm so glad that I'm able to make it being close with me. Today, similarly, it crawled on my back too. I even manage to walk out of the bathroom twice. The weird part is he sniff at my hair. He was playing with my hair and he wanted to "bite" my scalp. I have no idea why and it does feel quite pain actually. However, I face one problem is that it's hard to catch him when he's on my back as he keeps on moving here and there whenever my hand trying to get under his body (any solution for this?). Although lil' joey is able to crawl on my back, he will still crab whenever I'm trying to get him out of the place where he sleeps (his safe zone?). I'm looking forward to purchase a bonding pouch to enhance the bonding process. Wish me luck yo~!! Here are some pics I've just taken: [attachmentid=3404006] [attachmentid=3404007] [attachmentid=3404008] he's just being pouch protective. Dun worry, as the bonding gets better, he'll learn to trust u and the crabbing will subside

QUOTE(GrassTvXX @ Jul 5 2015, 05:42 AM) I NEED HELP PEOPLE. ITS ABIT OF AN IRRESPONSIBLE ACT BUT IM TRYING TO BE A GOOD OWNER. My friends got me a glider on my birthday which is 28th JUNE and it seems to have a bent tail a broken one but no wounds nor pain. It just seems so normal so i send a pic to my breeder friend and he said its a birth defect or past injury im worry of my glider will its tail affect its daily routine for example gliding ? it can still climb and run pretty well ANY IDEA GUYS ? The irresponsible pet shop even offer to change a new glider for me CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT> ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY Is the glider self mutilating? Is the tail wet at the bent area? If not, all is well... Gliding, unless u r letter her free roam at a really big area, she won't be doing that.

QUOTE(squido24 @ Jul 8 2015, 07:05 AM) Hi, I have a friend have some prob with his female glider, ; lately lose appetite, not eating pellet, but still active and drinking. Poop is nice shape also... Please advice.. He just got her for 3 months Gliders are really fussy eaters. Some day they love apple, the very next day they just ignore it... As long as she's healthy and not losing weight, she'll be fine.

QUOTE(NightHeart @ Sep 14 2015, 11:40 AM) A lot of people wouldn't like this but I've been keeping a female glider, going to her 4th year soon. So far so good, doesn't look the best but she's decent. No matter how busy you are, you still need to find time at least once a week to trim her nails & prepare her fruits every night. Be disciplined enough for those & it shouldn't drive your glider nuts to the point of self-mutilation. Very glad she's in good hands of yours.

QUOTE(NightHeart @ Nov 9 2015, 02:24 AM) Yoo.....it's been a while, still in SG?? I think your one is just me being too gung ho & semangat over it, i glued her to me 24/7 until she got too stressed/exhausted. Learn to give them gliders some space now. Nah, I'm back in Malaysia now. But i have 2 kiddos now, so no time for gliders. Unfortunately...

QUOTE(NightHeart @ Dec 28 2015, 09:46 PM) Time to break the silence then =) My lil glider is gonna be 3 (or 4 lol) years old by next week, so I'm thinking of getting a new cage for her OOP day. After 3 or 4 years, the current one is pretty rusty already. Don't feel nice putting her inside there even though she roams out of her cage most of the time. So what are the recommended cages these days? I'm still using the 4ft bird cage that was highly recommended back then. DIY a big big one. I used to make my own netting cage so they can jump and glide without any worry.
