hi guys, when i bought the mealworms from my nearest petshop, i noticed that they gave me some worms/cocoon, together with the mealworms, which i have no idea what is it.

i took 3 pics of it>>

do u guys know what is it? is it safe for me to feed it to my SG ?
the only thing which i can think of is that it resemble kakuna(from pokemon).

lol.. its the mealworm changed to cocoon. after that it will become a beetle.. then the beetle mate n lay eggs and there u get a mealworm.. and the cycle goes on and on and on..
feeding sg with cocoon.. well.. i dun even dare to try.. cause if i'm not sure then better not..
here my mealworm -> cocoon -> beetle..

owh!! icic..yesterday i tried to feed them the cocoon..both my SG ate one each..><..then how should i take care of the cocoon does it need to eat anything? cuz i see that it doesnt moves and just lying thre

Mealworms :- If u feed them when they r molting, whitish skin colour, it is high in protein. So as a white pupae.. Not cocoon. Pupae.

Ehh? Those beetles are from mealworms? I have plenty of those beetles in my garden, but i've never seen any mealworms before. They spent their entire life underground?

do u know how to care for the pupae? cuz i dont see it eating anything..><

it definitely won't eat. until it molt/hatch/turn (dunno wat to call it) into a beetle..
then u need to quickly remove the beetle and put in another container or it will eat the other pupae..
then just feed the beetle like u feed the mealworm..
then after 2weeks if i'm not mistaken, remove the beetles into new container koz they probably lay eggs in that container..
