Hi All.. new users reporting in.. I got massives of reading that I need to do..
And I already got my first question. The feature where you flip down your phone (face down) to switch it in silent mode, will it mistakenly goes into silent if I put it in my pants or when it is tumbling inside a bag/handbag/purse?

QUOTE(ltwvince @ Dec 14 2011, 09:56 AM) If rooted, just get market enabler, fake provider to US T-Mobile and try again. Added on December 14, 2011, 9:59 amIt happens to me once on my other phone. On S2 no issue. Try reinstalling and see if it helps. Are you using *ahem* version? I see.. thanks.. Looks like i need to find from another source for evaluation.... hehe..

i believe everyone already registered with samsungdive. Does anyone able to test and see whether it works or not..
I wonder why the remote control doesn't work. I tested the features by trying to lock my phone but it didn't succeed... i've enable the data packet (3g), wifi, follow the setting intruction by enable remote control and enabling the 'use wireless networks'.
Is is not working in malaysia?

QUOTE(angel_jc8 @ Dec 16 2011, 02:43 PM) (i already done search before posting but no results come out) planning to get a s2. should i buy now or wait till next year? price got differ if next year? thanks! next year, galaxy s3 will come out. it will be dual core 1.8GHz. by that time, the s2 price will go down a bit.. Added on December 16, 2011, 3:02 pmAnother question, is it ok to leave the gps on all the time? does it drains the battery much? or is there any tracking device apps for finding lost phone that can turn on our gps automatically. I'm using 'find my android' apps but it is useless if the phone is lost and the gps is not turned on'. This post has been edited by zeese: Dec 16 2011, 03:02 PM

Guys.. i got question regarding the phone contact backup. When adding a new contact number, the number can be stored either in sim, phone or google contact. With google contact, the contact number can be sync with google online or gmail.
I tested my phone by adding contact to google contact (not to sim card or phone contact). I Synced it and I can see my contact now appears in gmail account (under contact section). So, it has been backup now.
Let say I accidentally delete that contact in my phone, how do I pull back the number from the gmail account back to my phone (restore the backup) ? I tried to sync it again but what happen is the contact previously stored in my gmail is now lost. That means, instead of restoring my backup, it actually deletes my online backup in gmail account.
Sorry for lengthy description. In short, how do I pull my google contact from online, back into my phone?

QUOTE(antt00 @ Dec 20 2011, 11:15 AM) If you delete it on the phone it will also delete in google server once you sync and is now gone. Unless in special cases where you disassociate your google account from your phone or do a factory reset. In these cases, the contacts can/are deleted from your phone but still exist on google server. That's why it is also a good practice to make a manual backup to your phone or use titanium backup. QUOTE(Fallenangelz @ Dec 20 2011, 11:16 AM) no it wont. everytime when i reformat my phone after flashing new rom, once entered the gmail address and password, it will auto sync back my apps and contacts. edit: ah, u manually deleted it izit? den ntg to say d. use tb to backup first or copy to ur simcard to play safe. thanks antt00 & Fallenangelz. Now, I can see that the backup only work after reset or in similar situation, but won't work if the contact was accidentally deleted manually.. So, I guess, I got to back it up manually..
