I've just noticed that Batista ROM also going down. another great developer turn their attention to Galaxy Note.

Its been a long time since i checked Xda. very busy lately.

So Batista users, make ur pick then..

I'm done testing the battery. the best baterry life for me is how long can you use your phone, instead of long standby time. i'm trying to get at least 6 hours of screen on time with the ori battery. using the extended 2000mah can achieve 6 hours.

dont get you guys how can really drain your battery to almost empty?..mine, once i come back home, my battery left around 60% i already charge to full 100% back..I never let it below 50%...as I need to used my phone 24/7 doh.gif
*
This is normal for new user, want to test the battery life. it depends on individual when to charge their battery. the best is not to wait it to drain until zero. if 10%-20% should be ok to charge. battery life span also depends on how many time we charge it.

QUOTE(iori57 @ Dec 17 2011, 12:51 AM)
it doesn't depend on how many times we charge it, it depends on how many life cycles we charge it.. very different..

guy A's phone 100% use all the way to 0%, then charge all the way to 100%
guy A charged his phone 1 life cycle

guy B's phone 100% drop to 50%, he charges it to 100%, drop to 50%, charges it again to 100%
guy B charged his phone 1 life cycle also

though guy B charged twice as much, but we can argue that guy B's battery is in better state, because letting lithium ion battery drop to 0% is bad, the best range to stay is within 20% to 80% (according to many articles..)

conclusion: just charge anytime you want, it
doesn't care how many times you charge it, and you don't need to charge all the way up to 100% every time before you unplug!
*
Ha, i got confused between lithium ion battery and nickel cadmium one. Ok guys, use the battery wisely.

Its perfectly fine, dont worry. i always charge my phone before i sleep so that i start off with 100% battery the next morning
*
Should be ok. the power will not continue charging after the battery is full. our phone is advance enough to have auto cut off when the charging is complete. right me if i'm wrong

QUOTE(rattan @ Dec 16 2011, 07:25 PM)
U actually dont need unlimited. 1GB package should be more then enough.
I was on the 5GB plan earlier. Then I realize I am on WiFi (unifi 20mbps) when I am at home. Its way faster then using telco internet connection.

I turn on my data when I am out. Quite heavy usage also myself (Whatsapp, viber, YM, Skype, MSN, GTalk, BBC news, YouTube, and LYN browsing-PMing, Push mail activated - GMAIL 24 hrs a day.)

I still cant reach the 1GB quota. I also tether sometimes for light surfing and youtube where there is no wifi connection for my netbook/galaxy tab.

So my advise is get the 1GB (RM48 plan) if not enough then you can upgrade as there is no contract.

Let me enlighten, I am on DiGi Postpaid. I am not tied down with any phone contract. So I have the benefit of jumping packages/terminating my data package whenever I want.

DiGi Data Plans - No contract/device bundle

Edit :

I have also include Maxis/Celcom/UMobile data plans. To me their plans are the most ridiculous. Its extremely overpriced.

Maxis Data Plans - Postpaid, no device bundle

Celcom plans are more or less like DiGi.

Celcom Data Plans - Postpaid, no device bundle

UMobile plans are also interesting and reasonable. Issue is their customer service is never reachable. No emails are replied. No twitter complains will be entertained. So its basically a telco to choose if you are not a very serious business user. Internet is super fast at certain location. DR - Domestic Roaming capability, which means you can jump onto Celcom coverage where there is poor coverage of signal. Other then that nothing much.

UMobile Data Plans - Postpaid, no device bundle

Hope this sheds some light on those who are planning to get a data package bundled with their postpaid lines. I would definitely encourage a data plan with a smartphone. Without a data plan a smartphone is not very smart.

Planning to get Celcom postpaid Mbasic plan for me and my wife. i think 1 Gb should be enough for each of us. but the MAdvance 3Gb plan looks tempting to me. but if subscribe, need to spend RM200++ for phone bill on monthly basis for both of us,huhuhu

i gave up on searching pouch for sgs2 ~~ just made myself one pouch which fit in nicely~~ ^^

Me too. there are some people in the garage sales that buy the pouch in bulk. but we need to pre order and pre pay it first before can get the item. lead time is around 2-3 weeks i think.
i might consider to buy it in d near future. the pouch is from pdair brand i think.

SGS2 Skyrocket is never a international phone, instead its AT&T Exclusive with the marking on top of it.

I'm afraid u have to wait for SGS2 LTE International which spec is identical to SGS2 Skyrocket. Depending on Samsung Malaysia, i think its going to be less likely to be launch here as None of the Malaysia Telco is running on LTE unless Samsung decided to Obsolete all the current GS2 in the market and relaunch the GS2 LTE.
*
thanks mate.i'll wait for Galaxy S3 then for my next upgrade rclxms.gif . no need to rush things up. besides that, i haven't optimize the usage of my SGS2 yet. biggrin.gif

same here, but will make sure it's really stable before flashing over tongue.gif
hahaha seems like you had a similar experience to mine but i didn't get any freezes on home screen.

battery life was quite terrible sometimes that i couldn't charge it through my computer as it drains juice faster than it can charge  rclxub.gif  even after reboot.

i could use camera with other camera apps (thankfully, was on holiday that time).

other than the camera problem and the market (workaround that i didn't know of) and the horrible battery life, it was pretty darn good.
*
how about trying checkROM mate? rclxms.gif not bad for me.

why havent u updated to checkrom v4 yet? any issues with it? or u just didnt update ur siggy?
*
i've been using CRV2 for quite a while. no problem for me until now. so i'm not ready to upgrade to V4 or change to 4 Seasons ROM yet.

i installed the voice command apps from Samsung stock apps, it was pretty cool. never thought that our SGS2 already got the voice command and better than Siri from ifruit4S phone.
