I dun think you can get these in Malaysia as it is not common, maybe can ask any tailor. A proper ones are those made of metal (something like copper)
I have one pair got from UK while there

Yes it came with shirts. But due to laundry n washing, some gone missing.
So i am trying to replace them.

I know that they are metal ones. But if i forgot to take the metal ones out before laundry, the metal ones will change the colour of my shirt completely.

All my collar stays so far has came with the shirt itself and its plastic.
So my question is to those using metal/steel ones, in case if you forgot to take it out and put your shirt in the laundry, would it caused the stay to rust and affect the shirt?

I think the key here is you must make it a habit, be part of your daily routine.

i remember when i first put on a pair of cufflinks. it was so much hassle that i nearly gave up but after several times, cufflinks have been part of my life and i just can't get enough of them.

Also you mind will register that you are using a pair of collar stays, a pair that you paid at a premium (in comparison). So your mind will somehow prompt you to take them out before you wash your shirts.

Its silver/copper/stainless steel etc... it wont rust.

Anyway, just find a piece of plastic and cut to your desired shape and be done with it

Normally no. I bought mine on Amazon(stays and magnets).

I don't use the magnets anymore, too much hassle. I fuss with them so much in the morning to get both sides to match. Sometimes they drop inside your shirt when you're holding your phone with your shoulder.

How's the quality bro? I remember I was tempted to get metal stays that I saw somewhere because I thought it would add weight and keep the collars stiff and down.

But it doesn't seem like a popular thing because I don't see many around.

Quality is OK. I just bought some cheap stays on Amazon and they feel the same though. tongue.gif

Before this I've been using stainless steel stays, but I had a problem with some of my shirts from Jeremy Tok; the very tips of the collar were bent in at the end of the day. Jeremy said it could be the weight of my metal stays which is why I've bought plastic ones. Will be trying it out soon.
