hi there bb9790 users!
i'm a newbie to bb and this hp
and i was wondering if anyone could advise me which data plan i should subscribe to.
i am using prepaid and will be balik kampunging soon (no wifi)
and i usually use this hp for whatsapp, wechat, fb, not so much of surfing the web but occasional goodreads.

i am contemplating btwn

a) surf less 100mb per week at rm8
https://new.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...t-packages.html

or

b) bis bonus rm20 per month whr bis unlimited and 350mb on non biz
https://new.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...blackberry.html

any advice?

Surf Less is out of question for bb. for bb always look into BIS as this is a part of BB.
If you choose Surf Less, it's like you buy a 56K package for your 4G Modem.
Choose BIS, where you can benefit from all of it. BIS package gives you unlimited quota for all BIS features such as BBM, AppWorld, Map, Email, Browser.
Some more what interesting with Hotlink is that they included Non-BIS Quota, which is essential for when you use 3rd party app which is not under BIS such as: Whatsapp,Viber, Line, Youtube.

Another advice is when you go back kampung, when you check your line and it become SOS, no wories, change to 2G instead of 2G and 3G as it drains the battery when the phone changes between 2G and 3G everytime.
What steps did you take to install the OS which failed?

alright!
i'll just get the bis promo then, thanks!

hey there 9790 users!
i am encountering a problem with the app world...
it asked me to update it "To continue using Blackberry App World, you must upgrade your current version", then it brings me to the web page, but then when i click update today, it says "A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists, contact your service provider".

anyone having the same problem?

you're using wifi or bis?

i asked the wrong question. tongue.gif
actually no matter you try using bis/wifi, the error is not on our part, it's on the website.
have you attempted update using the app world and search for update?
*
yes, i did try that way
but still it led me back to the same link
if it is the website problem, i will write an email to whom it may concern then and try my luck

can you try again?
use only wifi from home. don't use BIS.
I just attempted on a fully formatted phone and it doesn't work with BIS.
