Red/Speed - I think resellers are cheaper, especially if you have contacts I suppose as Pioneer would sell at recommended retail price while resellers get at a wholesale price and then I guess they can discount but it would be eating into their margin - correct me if I'm wrong.

All my Pioneer gear came from resellers, deposit today and pick-up following work day. Some deliver some don't and prices differ like for the EFX1000 had a RM200 difference in price but both had to come from Japan.
*
that's cool since you can pick it yourself. not for me since these gears are not available in kch... sad.gif

i do hope that i can order mine & hoping that they will not take the untung too much.....
perhaps the pioneer standard range of prices is including the reseller profit margin.

Red - yup. you?

Speed - the recommended retail price is including profit so it really depends on how well you bargain.

Red/Speed - Still no word on my EFX1000s, don't feel like ringing cause the music is always blasting no one picks up and driving down is such a hassle. But if I do, I'll ask about the CDJ400s and the HDJ prices. I'll see what price they offer since I've bought quite a bit.

nice! thanks a lot for your help pimpin notworthy.gif

Which one is the cheapest?  brows.gif

yes of course please.....

for sure you would stick to one shop, isn't it? brows.gif

Added on December 22, 2007, 12:24 pmooops sorry i missed this part earlier.

for you & redbustop to go together & check it out is easy, coz both of you in KL.
but impractical for me...the least i can do is i can ask my colleague to buy it for me or as what you say, tolong beli...
not sure about the warranty part ah. normally warranty cert comes blank with no names, only the resit/invoice will have the buyers name. if like Sony, i can register my product online....

QUOTE([PIMPIN] @ Dec 18 2007, 09:56 PM)
Red/Speed - I dare not confirm that you will get the same price if you walk in but if I were to buy on your behalf then warranty etc could be a hassle - I don't know, but what I can assure you is that the warranty is direct from Pioneer Malaysia.

The best way would be to go together, intro and deal direct with the reseller. Basically I just come along so they know that you know the price quoted to me. Sounds good?

i know....i've been waiting for the reply mail from almost all pioneer reseller in malaysia, even i ask my colleague to search for it in Brunei.
who knows i might get it cheaper there & faster.

but still nobody replies my mail, still in holiday mood perhaps?

btw, nice gears & room setup you get there...you should open a business for people rent your studio. hehehe brows.gif

Hi guys, not sure if I'm posting this question in the right thread but the Search function didnt return anything relevant. smile.gif

I'm a huge fan of EDM and have over 200 CDs of DJ mixes collected over the years. Yeah, supposed its evolved alot over the decade, but I'm still enjoying it alot. Favourite DJs are Dave Seaman, Sander Klienenberg, Jeff Mills, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Satoshi Tomie, Deep Dish and Sasha.

I want to create mixes of my own now... have tried Mixmeister trial which was pretty good - but costly. Basically, mix MP3s of my fave tunes into a whole mix and writing it out would be cool. There're so many softwares out there which does it - but some look so complex and some are really costly.

As I'm only doing it for my own interest, I'm sure there must be something out that that'd cater to my simple needs. Hopefully the sifus around here can help.

Thanks! smile.gif

well for a start you can use Tracktor or Virtual DJ, it's more simpler....once you could handle that, you can try ableton.
for Virtual to work properly, you need another soundcard to preview your upcoming tracks before mixing. but so far i only use laptop, no extra....i need to study the structure of the track & set cue points for better transitioning. quickly pitch bend before crossfading, make sure in beat & there you go! practice makes perfect, most importantly enjoy your work. mixing harmonically in EDM music does help to bring your mix to another level.

How do you guys organize your music? By BPM, key, etc?
*
i put them in 1 big folder containing BPM, later then sorted it out with keys when mixing.
my fav BPM would be 137 - 140.

thanks for liking the track, speed. well, i'm afraid that's the only version i had. made that for a remix competition... didn't win though, but came in close at 2nd place smile.gif

yeah, i have a new track in the making... still taking my own sweet time to put the pieces together

there's a compilation album named "Technology" by Adlib Records. do get a copy to support the locals. it will be hitting the stores this coming march/april... the cd is around amongst the promoters for the time being.
*
congratulations! at least you have something to be proud of...

i remember last year when i'm actually at 1st place in a forum based dj contest (the neatherlands based trance forum) (highest mark) & i only need my humble laptop to beat all of the contestants with the best gears!

I'm in the midst of setting up a studio: 3 studios for your normal jamming and one room for recording which will be set-up properly with help from my bro-in-law (was ED of Warner until recently and has been in the industry for 30years or so.

Anyways thats besides the point. What I want is YOUR opinion of whether I'm taking a step in the right direction by having a pair of CDJ400s and a 2 channel mixer in all jamming studios my reasons being:

1) A lot of people want to become a DJ but lets face it, it can be costly

2) CDJ400s are cheap

3) Linkin Park etc all have DJ with turntables as part of their band so I'm providing local bands/youth the chance to experiment and who knows we might unearth some hidden talent

Yay or nay?
*
Yay for all people with music in mind...

human being needs to access food, clothes & occassionaly instruments/dj equipments for them to survive tongue.gif

i'm almost done with the track and i'm pretty much satisfied with it so far. i will definitely be trying my shot at the big ones this time which most likely think it won't get signed anyway... but what i'm aiming for is somatic sense. they're a famous label for trance genre.
*
i think for upcoming releases like your genre you should try for DAIF, Moonrising, Discover, Anjunabeats....just to name a few.

Somatic Sense is good but the response is not so fast like the release mentioned, in my opinion...

Speed - we're aiming to be fully operational by Feb which is about a month later than expected but I bought another company so funds were diverted plus location was hard to pick.

Wes - aside from the normal electric guitars, bass, drums and amps we're also trying to ensure that all the jamming studios have a pair of CDJ400s, DJM400 mixer and HDJ1000 headphones.
*
i'm hoping that your business will expanding & eventually will open a branch here in Kuching. that would be awesome....dj/jamming school. nod.gif
