But you could get some decent pair of cans from akg at lelong.com.my or there are some people here in this forum itself that sells sennheiser price at a discounted rate. scan around this forum laa. especially the audiophile section and the classifiles. I'm sure you can find some people selling some good closeback cans from pioneer/ technics n etc.

am contemplelating if i shld bring it to meeting tonight to let you all play-play. cause its a new gear by behringer just released, i think it has better value than the djm800... after all it offers more for cheaper.
would see if you guys agree to its sound quality. well after all i could let you all try mix-mix n mess around with it... no harm... can hump it if you want but just dont break it of leave some jizz behind. lol
it has a really steep learning curve to it. i've gotten it for quite a while now. and i still cant master all of it.
i do know the basic though. too many buttons and knobily bits. but i guess thats a yay for midi cause more configurable buttons, so you can have extra parameters to control.

but the downside is that its rather heavy cause i am gonna bring it in my rack. if i bring could you all help me carry? its rather heavy the rack n the mixer nad the cd player.

vince, your place got extra power plug rite? then i think it shld be fine la.

1st I'd think its better for you to visit the site @ corezradio.weebly.com (its not in google yet)
and I actually forsee this radio as a general EDM radio station as starters.

I'd accept anything from garage, jungle, amience, downtempo and also your uplifting trance you name it.. just letme preview the music 1st.
I dont want this radio station to be too limited in terms of music genre. If some 1 can play a cello, with an orchestra piece, go ahead... I am all ears. A new genre.. go ahead.. I dont judge by the genre, i check for the quality, the uniqueness, the x-factor...

Another thing, I actually dont bother much how its mixed. via cd decks, softwares (i.e mixmeister, serato, vdj, etc etc), vinyls, tape decks. Go ahead because as dj's or musicians or producers. i think its important to understand that REAL DJ'S/ MUSICIANS PLAY WITH MUSIC.

I am tired of hearing, others say that real dj's should play with vinyls. or software that does all the beat matching for you is cheating. or using ableton live is cheating. or tape deck's for losers.

The way i look at, format will still remain as a format and a tool as a tool for dj's. Put any in the hands of a good dj, at the end of the day he is still able to make music out of anything. If lets say a dj is most comfortable with mixmeister that automates all the beat matching for you. go ahead, because that leaves you as a dj with more time on your hands to add in more elements. layer the music. put in 10 tracks at once. how on earth a vinyl based dj is gonna do that ? as my friend always say, there is no best martial art just the best fighter. likewise, there is no best tool or format, just the best dj.

cause in our context what gives us the edge over another is not technicality but rather creativity. but in terms of technicality we must learn it in order to be adept in what we do.
let me give you an example here, as i say technicality is not important this is because at that stage, we can fully express and convey whatever we want to convey using whatever we want. its kind of like how having a limited vocabulary in whatever language makes you unable to write good essays or whatever. because its your vocaulary that is restricting what you want to say or limiting your creativity. so we must actually get enough of a vocabulary to be able to fully express what we want to say. like i want to say 'mutilated' but i dont know the word, so i cant write it on paper thus i cant express my self properly. get my drift? so whatever tools you're using, maximise its potential so that it wont be a hindarance for you to express what you people to hear.

on the other hand do you want me to use the one of you posing in the washroom? it looks much better and you look damn pretty. but.. its a washroom. so if you do have the time... take a tripod, pose infront of your decks(make sure their turned on), dimn the lighting and snap away.

I think its nothing to be shy of, because through great photos it adds up as a sort of 'marketing / publicity' tool on your behalf. now where on earth do you see tiesto, van dyk, van buuren having ugly bio/promo photos? i guess if you want to be taken seriously as a dj or whatever profession; even being a ceo of a huge international company, its the image which does the speaking for you. you snap the photo's which are appropriate for your profession. you dont see some modeling bikini wearing pictures of ceo's in annual reports do you? more likely a ceo would appear in pictures in full formality donning a suit and tie. why? the image they want the general public to have relates in to the way how they dress, how they look n etc. as for this case, a ceo would want the public to have trust and understand that his company is all about having profesionalism ethics and that they mean business. thats the reason why she would wear a suit and tie. (assuming that the ceo is a women)

likewise, if you're a good looking person (even if you're not) you have to snap a picture that is less offending to the public as possible, and so that equates to dressing up, and probably making up for photoshoots. i dont see that as vainity but in fact i see that as 'wanting to be taken seriously'. well after all you do want your viewvers to have confidence in you dont you?
superficial as it sounds, because we shouln't judge a book by its cover, but how many times have we all been bowled over by pretty packaging? i know its the substance that matters or the content. but how on the damn bloody earth are you going to reach your audiences/ customers if you dont even have the chance to show what you have to them? oh and by looking like a drunked after having a row with his wife is gonna help you alot to gain viever ratings or customers? good promo shot man!

now be sensible, would you buy a ferrari which has the fastest naturally aspirated engines, those milisecond gearshifts with twin clutch gearboxes and a handling that puts lotus to shame in one heck of an ugly squarish datsun sunny which looks like something taken back in the 1970's mass produced japanese cars? (not saying that datsun is a horrible car, but i'm putting things into perspective here). well some would, most wouldn't... see? get the picture already? well if most people would purely buy things forgoing their asthetics, we would be living in a pretty bland world. and also alfa (romeo of course) would be non-existant. get the whole picture?

well lets hope after my sermon, you guys would be "thick-skinned" a lil and take those pretty mug shots. lol. if your mates question your vainity well, you can quote me.
