QUOTE([PIMPIN)
,Feb 11 2008, 09:37 PM]Have you tried DJforums.com or something along those lines? I remember reading somewhere about it not being good to mix balanced with unbalanced, though I could be mistaken.

Surely the RCA can be replaced? My KRKs had one of its RCA inputs fkd and it could be replaced no worries.
*
yeah thats the next thing i have in mind as soon as i get back to KL, replacing or repairing the entire output ports (rec, master and zone) cause they all work ok if i have a free hand to 'push' the connection down.. loose i guess..
incidently, u know any reliable place i can send it for repairs? none of those dodgy uncles with a million parts of TV sets in front of the shop please.. wouldnt want to gain the outputs and lose some of the other function in the process haha

sars, I'm not a super star DJ. I'm not qualified to be a DJ .. i just make noises scratching here and there..Still trying to get my mixing right.

Just got words of my shipment. I'm getting all my stuff back on thursday. Now, i have to figure out where to set up my turntables. Got no space to set up in my small lil room.

*sigh*
*
u can put it in my bedroom if u want haha

tell me more about it
*
ok here's what to do:
a) before u do anything, make sure ur internal soundcard is the default soundcard (if u havent install any other soundcard before, this should already be the default)
b) go to asio4all.com, dl and install it
c) plug in the usb soundcard
d) open asio4all and make sure the usb soundcard is disabled
e) close the asio and open traktor
f) open the preferences menu, and go to Audio Setup>Soundcard and select ASIO4All
g) click "Control Panel" to re-open ASIO4All
h) now make sure the usb AND the internal soundcard is enabled, if not, enable it
i) go back to traktor and click "Apply"
j) now go to the routing options, u should have the option for both the usb and internal soundcard at ur disposal smile.gif

i have only tried this with traktor, not sure other software can work this way. as for audio quality, im not so much an audiophile so the sound to me is ok.. let ur ears be the judge
note: got this nice trick from NI forum

lol ive got it with me and been using it for quite a while but still dunno how to fully use it

try adobe audition 3 too i heard it now comes with dj view which is similar to ableton i not getting my hand on that yet tho
*
haha tell me bout it, i dled it, tried using it once, got a headache, uninstall! haha
didnt even know i had to dl the samples beforehand, felt like a chicken with its head cut off for the first 30 minutes figuring out where the hell are the sound clips..im a dumdum when it comes to all these technical mambojumbo haha
but since a lot of djs been plugging in Live6/7 to their sets, i want to still keep trying.. maybe some other time when im not lazy haha
for the time being, ill just stick to the good ol' traktor

I am not sure . that is something i want to find out too.I have to ask my friend to get me extra Mixvibes TC for future backups.

I am not sure if Serato's TC vinyl will work for mixvibes

but i know Serato TC vinyl will work for torq but you have to switch some wires on the needlez.
*
yeah i heard some switch like that before, i think djdecks and virtualvinyl can use most of the other tc vinyl
but the software itself is unflattering.. havent tried tho, just looks like sh#t

just found mixvibes pro 5.11 full and cracked, dling...
didnt find any crack for pro6 tho..

Added on February 15, 2008, 8:39 amchoong how much u paid for the soundcard? found a guy who wanna sell his u46dj for about 500bux, good price issit?

sorry I miss your question.Actually I can't recall how much i bought it. I can't check the receipt as my stuff is at my gf's place. 500bux as in Malaysian Ringgit or what?  If it's malaysian ringgit, i think it's quite a good price.

I think mine is approximately 300 aussie dollar which translate to about 900 ringgit..

Added on February 16, 2008, 11:52 am
hey speed,i don't think that that CD you have contain any interface software. only contains the driver. Try downloading ASIO control panel to configure your maya USB soundcard.
*
yeah u can get it here for rm950 from the above link (the shop is called midi specialist at low yatt, one of the higher levels and its quite secluded), the price i got is actually 200 spore dollar (about rm460 i think)
but i would want to steer clear of second hand stuff if i can, for now i think first choice would still be a brand new maya44usb

Sennheiser HD-25 II  .. keke.. but this baby will cost you a fortune. unlike the headphone your mentioned, this headphone doesn't cover your whole ears but still manage to shut out unwanted noise thus keeping your ears cooler than pioneer or technics. The bass are solid while the treble are crystal clear.  Good for hip-hop drum and bass DJ.
*
no worth it la hd25, unless ur producing a track and using it as a reference... headphones for monitoring u just need sumthing with a punching bass, that is if ur playing in a club, a bigger range of frequency like hd25 is good too, but u dont really need it i must say.. just go for something comfortable, remember its gonna be ur 'crown' for practicing which is gonna be hours on end
