timecode vinyl whats that ...
*
have you seen Rane Serato Scratch Live System? or Mixvibes Digital Vinyl System? the vinyl record used to control MP3 ..?

those normal song vinyl record that traditionally used contains music on the vinyl
time code vinyl only contain computer codes when played(*doesnt have any sound*) .. which are later read by computers to manipulate MP3 digitally.

I'm not sure what is in the CD but if you are looking for the driver, try http://download.audiotrak.net/?w=at&p=13&g=2&l=en

maybe you want to have a fresh windows XP installed.

choong how much u paid for the soundcard? found a guy who wanna sell his u46dj for about 500bux, good price issit?

sorry I miss your question.Actually I can't recall how much i bought it. I can't check the receipt as my stuff is at my gf's place. 500bux as in Malaysian Ringgit or what? If it's malaysian ringgit, i think it's quite a good price.

I think mine is approximately 300 aussie dollar which translate to about 900 ringgit..

hey speed,i don't think that that CD you have contain any interface software. only contains the driver. Try downloading ASIO control panel to configure your maya USB soundcard.

thx for the info ... anyway i m going to buy a headphones any recom ?.... on my list got Pioneer HDJ1000 and Technics DJ1200A or DH1200
*
Sennheiser HD-25 II .. keke.. but this baby will cost you a fortune. unlike the headphone your mentioned, this headphone doesn't cover your whole ears but still manage to shut out unwanted noise thus keeping your ears cooler than pioneer or technics. The bass are solid while the treble are crystal clear. Good for hip-hop drum and bass DJ.

choong ..... why dont get cdj ? ..... vinyl really that good ?
*

[/quote

Vinyl Forever !!! hehe .. just kidding ... vinyl got nicer feel to it for scratching and you have more manual control over it
CDJ is good cuz you can get more CDs, tracks easier compare to vinyl records.. but I'm using Mixvibes DIgital Vinyl System which solve this problem.

CDJ has a "Toy-ish" feel compare to analog turntable. Unless you have Numark CDX turntable .
turntable can have needle dropping, and you can see the record marking better ... CDJ you can't do needle drop or even mark the tracks.

Top End CDJ with vinyl control capabilities are expensive.

u mean CDJ1000mkX ?
*
yea, but CDJ1000 still doesn't have a moving platter. i think it's a pioneer style design. smile.gif .. i still prefer analog turntable for scratching.. mixing however.. any CDJ is fine

alot of scratch djs in here is see... hehe
choong any chance i can try out ur gear ka? im trying to make a decision whether to go for mixvibes with maya44usb/u46dj or just save up and get TRAKTOR SCRATCH! (f*cking sweet but damn its expensive!)
i have a soft spot for traktor, thats why.. and the Audio 8 soundcard is the best atm
*
i don't call myself a scratch DJ cuz i can't scratch that well. only make alot of noises.
my gear? for now i can say cannot la.. cuz my gear not even at my own house. if you want to try mixvibes.. maybe we can go some studio etc to try if you want. hey.. where is pimpin? isn't he coming up with a jamming studio?

beside traktor u can always look for torq. I know the numark dealer in SMX . maybe can ask price for you.

Anyone know what's the current price for Serato and Rane TTM56 in Malaysia?
*
you might want to contact DJ Fuzz himself as he's the person dealing with RANE ... DJ Ideaz from www.skratchboarder.com is still trying to sell his TTM-56 for RM3500.

hows the sound quality for the u46dj? ok ka?
*
i do not have hearing of a dog. I really not too sure. I never had chance to use it with good quality speakers or big speakers set up. So I can't really comment about the quality. to me, it's ok la. but different quality/bitrate of mp3 might be one major issue when mixing.

ummm yeah for now.

but if possible i would like to use them also with my upcoming cdj800mk2 later.
still thinking of how to configure it out.

lol @ Choong's pic biggrin.gif
wait until u see my setup next week tongue.gif  even worse position than yours.
some more i put my mixer & cdj under the bed cos no room. waiting for me to move out to my new house then i'll buy myself a proper table.
*
mixing setup doesn't matter.. u can have them set up on different level side way up side down it doesn't really matter as mixing doesn't require fast movement like scratching/beat juggling need. Even this setup that I have now is a bit high for me. I'm a short guy. but as i said, this is only temporary.

PMC07 is a pretty high end scratch mixer..

aiya u so fast maa..just put on sale terus org angkut! doh.gif

this is my doubts few pages back regarding the mixer.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry14216705

btw, i understand that the 800mk2 is suitable for scratching? by looking at some youtube videos to further deepen my believes on that matter.
i dunno if the pmc07 & 800mk2 may do a great companion for battle djs?
too bad, i'm more of a trance person. but here people dont listen to it...i guess i'll spin reggaeton or dangdut later if want to land in local pub rolleyes.gif
*
battle DJ setup .. CDJ = CDJ1000MK2
battle DJ Setup ..turntable = SL1200

for battle DJ , mixer .. the most important is the cut time on the fader...the faster the better ..
reason why RANE is one of the best in the market is because the mixer crossfader doesn't bleed (ROSAK). this is because the crossfader uses a technology where there is no contact with any circuit board. there are two sensor on both side that detect the distance of the fader from each end.

are you running virtual DJ with CD Timecode controller? Otherwise I don't see the reason for you to use the maya USB . you can straight mix out of the CD.

btw.. it's not a noob gear..it's consider high end
i started off with behringer VMX-100 with two laptops.
then VMX-100 with entry level Stanton 8-30 and slowly progressing ..

now that is noob gear..
